New Keeper

The burnley keeper is supposed to be a target for us - well was in one of papers recently

Yes, Heaton, was the last one linked with us.

Before that it was the Norwegian, Orjan Nyland.

Both stories in The Mirror ! Suggests they're trying a shot gun approach of throwing out as many names to clubs as possible, in the hope that one or two are proved correct.

Probably the most difficult position to fill - someone who is good enough for PL until FF is back and who is then happy to sit on bench. There are plenty of PL second choice keepers but would they want to move to be second choice again? Not easy

we should not be getting someone who is happy on the bench. I'd hope the cedric wont be too happy on the bench.

I'd want someone to come in and back themselves to keep FF on the bench

There will be good keepers who see this as an opportunity to prove themselves in a stronger side and hold their place when Forster returns. Whether they would succeed remains to be seen!

Finish International GK :)

Niemi Mk II ? That would be good.

Trouble is though, with both Nyland, and the Finn ( presumably you mean, Hradecky mentioned on here previously), neither have played league football in a comparable league to judge how they might fare in England. But then again that is possibly what the Black Box is for ...

I believe it's a case of Saint Stekelenburg, now.

Meh

He is a huge upgrade in quality on Davis and Gazzaniga.

Forster is our long term keeper, we aren't going to sign someone that will stay number 1 when Forster is back. Stekelenburg should be of sufficient quality to be our keeper in the meantime.

Not exactly hard to be an upgrade on them though is it.

Think we could do better than someone who has hardly played for a year and a half.

I'd rather have Tom Heaton or Orjan Nyland.

There is no guarantee that Forster will be back, and if he does who knows whether he will be at the same standard. Buying/loaning a stop gap shouldn't be our focus IMO.

How often have you seen Nyland? What are his strengths?

For some people, I never will be...

Keeping my counsel atm, just stuff on PMs!

So you are publically willing to state that there are things that your are only willing to state privately but that they involve a third signing.

Good enough for me.
