What Redslo needs is a break.

He needs to experience a traditional British holiday at one of our lovely seaside towns like Middlesbrough or Hull.

You may be right. However, my blog and posting here is me taking a break from writing briefs about mentally ill sex offenders.

Also, I think people have missed the point of my initial post on Southampton's seasideness. I posted a link to a map of Southampton NY which is definitely seaside. It was a joke. Ok, maybe it was not funny, but I wasn't missing the point of anything or at least I was missing the point of something I have continued to miss the point of.

On the other hand, I was serious when I said that claiming I was from LA was a serious insult.

Also, I know that Middlesbrough is not seaside. Hull I had to check.

Accusing me of being from Los Angeles is worse than accusing you of being from Portsmouth. I am from San Francisco. (By the way, if you actually are from Portsmouth, I apologize. I am sorry you are from Portsmouth.)

Many humble apologies!

Btw do you work in LA?

No, except when I have to appear in front of a court in LA which has happened about 5 or 6 times in 20 years. I was born in San Francisco, grew up in Palo Alto, and live in San Luis Obispo. Only San Francisco is seaside. Palo Alto is bayside, if you ignore the mudflats.

Is the house music scene still as big in SF?

No idea. Haven't lived in San Francisco since 1991 and probably would know nothing about the house music scene even if I did.

That would be a bit of a commute!!

I live 200 miles from LA.

Since moving to the mid west i have learnt that 200 miles is a short day trip. They measure distances in number of hours it takes to get there.

As an ex pat living in the USA, and former Southampton resident I feel like I might be able to help out Californian friend with english-american cultural translation. Although somethings have occured since I was last home, I do not remember "chav" being used for example.
