New Away Kit

Well, I love it, but will be interesting to see it on a pitch.

Now here's the thing .... will we be able to see it on the pitch?

Maybe it's a stealth plan we have come up with. Opposition players won't be able to see our players as they blend in with the green pitch. They will take up previously arranged positions so that ours will know where to pass to,

and the next thing you know the ball's in the back of the net, just leaving us to ask the question 'Who are ya, who are ya?" at the fleeting glimpse we get of the scorer before he blends back into

the camoflagued background again

I happened to be in Seattle Super Bowl week and their city is one of the most sports mad in the U.S. (IMO). IF, we do get a tie up with any of the teams from Seattle, Sounders, or Even Hawks it would be a great move forward in the global brand awareness project. As an example, even the airline attendants wore Hawks shirts the weeks leading up to the game and you got priority boarding if you had a Hawks shirt on. If this shirt ever went on sale in Seattle I can see it being very popular.

Stick the proper crest on it and I would have bought that!

Yep .... can't stand the monochrome club badge, be it the tacky Cortese gold effort or this one.

I wouldn't have bought it either way, but that's me!! Never had a Replica kit .... Polo shirt me up baby!!

This pretty much backs you up, would be a bit of a commercial coup if the link up rumours with Seattle turn out to be true.

Why would it matter if we hadn't?

I'm looking forward to hearing MLG explain that green and blue now could be our traditional away kit because who knows we might wear green and blue away kits for the next fifty years.

I think my point was made clearly and precisely in the earlier post. The colours and design are shyte IMO. I don't really like Adidas kits in general and IMO the club should get a unique design.

In the post you have quoted and where I have inserted photos I was merely pointing out that if we have to have this design couldn't a better combination of colours be selected. I have struggled to find a worse pair - in fact all the ones I have shown are better than the green/blue.

Obviously the points I have made are my views and they differ from yours, but that is allowed you know.

I think the colours and design are excellent, and better than all the pics you linked. If your point is that you don't like it, that's fine, I was just wondering why all the sash pics from various different seasons adidas kits.

It looks much worse with the full colour crest on it, too much going on compared to the rest of the shirt. It needs to be a single colour to match the design.

The gold badge on the all red kit looked crap because it was 1) a gold badge on a red kit and 2) part of a crap red kit. This one (and the monochrome black and white ones on the last adidas away kit) look really good - though the full colour badge would have worked much better on the black/white shirts than this one.

Looks good, but I'd have preferred yellow not slime green. Love having the sash back.... I wonder what the chance is of having a European shirt with a sash, in red and white? I'd buy it.

Properly a marmite kit by the look of it heh, I really like it myself.

Sash kit for Europe wouldn't surprise me actually, if they still have the rule about stripes not being allowed on the back.

Good point. The fact we have a shirt design that is several years old, a small it of beading apart, just adds to the shytness of this Adidas shirt launch.

I'm not sure "having a shirt with a diagonal on it" counts as "an adidas design that is several years old" as much as adidas knowing some teams will want a sash and making sure there's the option to do so. More to the point, we've never chosen it before, and that design has never been available before - the mesh collar thing is very much 2015/16.

Do you think Man U adidas kits are ripping off Liverpool ones or vice versa because they're both plain red?

What do you think of this Maccabi Tel Aviv shirt then (aside from the Skate)?

Maccabi15.jpg

Only about six hundred times better than our away kit.

I pray to God that we have a traditional yellow and blue one next year.

What's wrong with green? Maybe I'm biased because it's my favourite colour but I don't see what the problem with green is.

I'd say green is my favourite colour, I have green clothes aplenty, have painted walls with shades of it, bought a green front door once and even the front lawn is green.

But man that kit stinks.

I guess you are right on that score. :(

On the plus side if we see someone wearing one, we'd catch on it was a Saints Fan without needing to see the badge, as it isn't like any other teams kit that I know. Where as the gold crap on the swindon/brizzle city/notts forest/liverpool/arsenal shirts could have been anybody!!

Sack the board! What an atrocity! Kat out!

In all seriousness I don't mind it at all. And I like the monochrome badge as well.

I may or may not buy it. We'll see. As I can't go to games but like to have a shirt, the away one tends to work better for me.

Not into walking down the street in red and white stripes generally.

As an aside because it is an Adidas kit I can try on similar locally to figure out the size beforehand if I decide to order one online.

Couldn't do that last year.

Which is where our views differ. IMO our away strip is basically Chelsea's away strip from a few years ago, but in a worse colour choice. You disagree because there is a 2015 mesh making it different and/or unique. Let's agree to disagree.

I was rather dreading seeing this after hearing the quite accurate rumours, but I actually quite like it. My daughter loves it. It will be interesting to see exactly how the real thing looks in the shop.

Nip over to the Pointless Kit Thread, there are pics in there.
