teamsaint Posted 27 June, 2015 Posted 27 June, 2015 Top attempt at trolling so far today. But Hey, it's not 9.00 am yet. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ............... Its having an opinion, not trolling. If the club really think they need to spend £15m on a striker to realise their ambitions for next season, then they will , if they can. The ambition is likely another comfortable top half finish, IMO, for which ambition Austin represents a luxury buy. Lambert might fit the bill of a squad player rather well, for a good deal less. Whether Austin is a better player, or SRL would want to fulfill that role, are completely different questions.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 I bumped into somebody connected to Poole Town and he claimed he's going to Chelsea. He told to to lump on and make some money.
S-Clarke Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 I bumped into somebody connected to Poole Town and he claimed he's going to Chelsea. He told to to lump on and make some money. Another Chelsea player will ruin. - if that's the case.
Saint_Ash Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 Another Chelsea player will ruin. - if that's the case. We should nip in and take Bamford off their hands, just to add to our already decent looking front line.
shurlock Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 I bumped into somebody connected to Poole Town and he claimed he's going to Chelsea. He told to to lump on and make some money. Is he a credible sort - still in contact with him? 14/1 on skybet. Pretty tempting.
Saint_Ash Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 Is he a credible sort - still in contact with him? 14/1 on skybet. Pretty tempting. About a month ago the odds of him joining Chelsea were about 4-1 and I can see him being the sort of player they bring in. They Play 50-60 games a season so I can see Austin playing 30 odd games, maybe most as a sub but he help their home grown status and will earn a wedge. I'm tempted with 14-1
Sour Mash Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 Hard to see where Austin will end up now, as both us and Newcastle no longer look likely and I can't see him being particularly keen on a move to somewhere like Leicester.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 Is he a credible sort - still in contact with him? 14/1 on skybet. Pretty tempting. He's defo in at Poole town and quite well known around local football. He was defo friendly with Austin even when he was at Swindon . But whether he still is, I wouldn't know. I don't see him as much as I did since hanging up my boots, but he's never struck me as a Billy Liar. I believe 100% that he's been told it, obviously that doesn't mean it'll happen , but I'd have said its better than 14/1

Lord Duckhunter Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 I've had a small dabble so fingers crossed.
Saint_Ash Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 6-1 on skybet, 10-1 on the exchange markets betfair and betwa. Has he come down today then? Everyone on here jumping on it
Saint_Ash Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 Bournemouth... I miss the Itchen _Dan days of copious amounts of links and rumours to lots of players! What happened?
eelpie Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 I'm a fan of Austin and believe he will be a positive asset to our strike force. However, with all of last season's back four except Jose either departed or injured, this is where we must prioritise, now. Although a weakened defence will require more goal-scorers to maintain our goals-for balance
bridgeman Posted 10 July, 2015 Posted 10 July, 2015 I like Austin and admire his work rate too. You can understand why he would want to go to Chelsea but it wont be good for his career long term. Would have liked him here.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 At SMS tonight? I think people have seen a car reg plate with AUS on it parked up at sms and tried putting 2 + 2 together and got 5. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk
SuperSAINT Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 At SMS tonight? I miss the days where we got pics of the Directors box to look at on here.
robgriz Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Surely the number plate is indicative of Claus Lundekvam? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint Charlie Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 He wasn't there judging by him watching a film on Twitter.
Saint_clark Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Surely the number plate is indicative of Claus Lundekvam? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yep.
Saint_Ash Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Surely the number plate is indicative of Claus Lundekvam? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yep, I walked by it and was saying claus to me!
Nolan Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Surely the number plate is indicative of Claus Lundekvam? Thought he was back in Norway, would he still have a British number plate?
Wiggles31 Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Forgive me for being stupid but how does Austin on a number plate relate to a skint Norweigan?
simo Posted 30 July, 2015 Posted 30 July, 2015 Forgive me for being stupid but how does Austin on a number plate relate to a skint Norweigan? C1(5)AUS
saintmonkey1979 Posted 31 July, 2015 Posted 31 July, 2015 Is Claus allowed to drive?? I was wondering that.
sussexsaint Posted 31 July, 2015 Posted 31 July, 2015 Santa Claus ! He supports us because of the red and white thing
alpine_saint Posted 31 July, 2015 Posted 31 July, 2015 Thought Claus was safely tucked up in bed by 2100 back in Norway nowadays ?
Saint_Ash Posted 31 July, 2015 Posted 31 July, 2015 considering there was a section about Claus in the programme I'd be very surprised if he wasn't at the game. Probably got a free ticket.
Miltonaggro Posted 31 July, 2015 Posted 31 July, 2015 A big lol from me (rare as rocking horse sh*t on here nowadays)!
vivasadio Posted 31 July, 2015 Posted 31 July, 2015 It was Kelvin Davis who got out of the car in question
Saint IQ Posted 31 July, 2015 Posted 31 July, 2015 (edited) I've had a small dabble so fingers crossed. Chelsea are 50-1 at UniBet whoever they're, very tempting odds..http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/charlie-austin/club-after-summer-transfer-window Edited 31 July, 2015 by Saint IQ

Saint IQ Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Staying at QPR this window. I see he has listened to my advice on twitter a month or so ago when I told him to play for QPR and wait till January then join us when we're amoungst the top 4 contenders and decide to go for more fire power to help us out. . Would be a cut price as well with only 6 months left on his deal. Isn't he reportedly a saints fan?
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 I really cant see us paying him £75k a week. Would he come here for a lot less?
Saint IQ Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Well Longs reportedly on 50k a week or more isn't he? (FM 2015 says 54k per week) If true we probably would pay him 70-75k a week.
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 I don't know what our highest wage is but don't think it is over £60k?
simo Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Well Longs reportedly on 50k a week or more isn't he? (FM 2015 says 54k per week) If true we probably would pay him 70-75k a week. What I've heard it's his crazy wages that have put everyone off!
Golden Balls Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Good news for QPR fans. Probably not great for their finances. He is far too good for the Championship and I cant believe he would be happy to spend a year down there after his England call up. He probably wouldn't have got in the squad for the Euros but if he bagged 20-25 goals in the PL this season he'd have a great chance. No chance now. Got to be more to it than just his wages, surely? Would have loved us to sign him.

I thought they were supposed to have to pay a big fine this year , and/or have a transfer ban etc ..... And that they'd have to sell big earners to avoid breaking the rules again?
Trader Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 What happened to Qpr's penalty from the football league for overspending in the year they went up? I thought they were supposed to have to pay a big fine this year , and/or have a transfer ban etc ..... And that they'd have to sell big earners to avoid breaking the rules again? It's been dramatically reduced of course, just like everyone (inc QPR) knew it would be. We all know that football clubs are bombproof - we only have to look a few miles along the coast to the east to realise that.
CWD Posted 1 September, 2015 Posted 1 September, 2015 Way back when this thread was young, I suggested that £15m was vastly overpriced for Austin and was widely lambasted for it. And yet it turns out every premier league club agreed! I told you all so
