Who's digging out their 'Be a Gooner for the day' t-shirt?

This is a difficult one for me. For obvious reasons I want Arsenal to win, however I'm set to win over £2,000 should Villa lift the cup which'll ease the pain of us missing out on Europe!

id take 2 grand any day!! That or us being knocked out by Braega?

I'd take the 2 grand, but because I'd want to use it to watch Saints in Europe. Tricky.

Also, where's "Braega"? There are enough daft names in Europe without you making them up. If you meant "Braga", they're already in the Group Stage, so I'd happily take us getting to play the 10 Europa League qualifiers and group matches it would take for us to be able to get knocked out by them. Or of course it could happen at any point after that in the knockout stages.

Also, Braga's stadium is amazing.

Awkward one for me, as i obviously want Arsenal to win, and would have anyway regardless of our place in Europe resting on it. Something about Sherwood that makes me want to slap him around the chops.

Hasn't he slagged us off in the past due to his connections with Spurs and Skatesmuff?

But my track record of watching games down the pub this season has been pretty dire P 11 W 2 L 9 scored 3 goals!!

I had an Gooner mate visiting a few weeks ago and we went down to Barasti to watch the Arsenal v swansea game, and I was obviously rooting for Arsenal as Swansea were hot on our heels and naturally Swansea won

So I'll have to pretend that I want a Villa win and hope the footballing gods don't notice me quietly cheer for Arsenal!!

would normally cheer on the underdog but obviously want Arsenal to win......if West Spam can qualify through fair play, then i can accept us qualify because of Arsenal winning.

We won't have qualified because of Arsenal winning, that was 2003. This time we'll have qualified because UEFA changed the rules on cup runners-up qualifying before the start of the season. :)

I'm guessing you've not been a Saints fan long if you don't get the reference.

I have been since 1991 and I have no idea what it is referring to. Nor does the rest of the internet - this thread is the top Google hit for it.

I remember the days we used to have Skates posting on here, but they were open about the fact they were. Good banter. The new type of skate ''I'll pretend to be a Saints fan, just to wind them up'' is quite tedious.

It refers to the t-shirts Saints fans had printed after Hoddle left and his first game in charge of Spurs was against Arsenal in the cup, if I remember correctly.

Since 1987 and no idea what the reference is either.

Wake up Maggie I think I've got something to say to you: we don't know what you are on about.

I do mean Braga, but it was a metaphor really.

but you can't take the 2 grand to watch us in Europe. That's the point, Villa win and you get 2K or Arsenal win and you get a place in the qualifying rounds of ten Europa League. As much I want us in Europe, 2k, that's a lot of money to pass on..

I know, that was the point of my post.

Look at it as win/win then. :)

Another one of those awful ideas some people have from time to time that are never as widespread as they'd hope. Give me Niemi Day at Charlton any day (even if he didn't play). :D
