Did the scousers do any memorial silence this weekend or at the last match at anfield in memory and honor of the 39 killed at Heysel?

If not why not?!

Surely the last game for Mr S Gerrard at anfield wasn't seen as more important!

as tragic as hillsborough was. The level of coverage for Heysel and the Bradford fire over the years has been disgustingly sparse.

There was a good documentary on the BBC recently about Bradford. The point was made that the city held a 'Private dignity' in it's aftermath, their lack of constant screaming for attention over the horror of it a sign of the place's mentality and desire for normality to get on with their lives... hence the lack of subsequent drama.

This is what the scousers think of heysel.

It never gets mentioned and even if it does it wasn't their fault anyway, it was the stadium, the Belgian authorities, Chelsea fans in with them the national front etc.

that is a vile article.

Looks like it truly is never their fault.

Same was said on 'One Day in May' on BT Sport.

And you'd think that Liverpool fans never sing a song about the Munich Air Disaster when they play Utd? Massive double standards but it's understandable as we all try to brush the bad bits of our histories under the carpet.

I have two friends who were right in amongst it on the day (one Belgian and one Italian) and they were in no doubt that the fault lay with the Liverpool supporters who surged towards them aggressively ! They were lucky to be unscathed but say they will forever be scarred by it !

Remember that English teams were banned from European competition for 5 years thereafter and that 14 Liverpool fans were convicted of manslaughter so there clearly was blame attributed to them !
