Alain Perrin Posted 25 May, 2015 Share Posted 25 May, 2015 Don't bring me good generals, bring me lucky ones". So said Napoleon but true of this season when Poch and Brenda had some very lucky results early on. My memory of this season is whilst in some defeats we were unlucky (Swansea and Liverpool spring to mind, rarely were we lucky in victory (Swansea away the only one I recall. Is that my memory being rose tinted, or did we luck out elsewhere? Luckiest: Swansea, Bony getting red carded. Unluckiest: Liverpool H. Kevin Friend is a ******. My memory is hazy but I recall a rub of the green.
Bucks Saint Posted 25 May, 2015 Share Posted 25 May, 2015 Unlucky: Arsenal away (crap ref not giving a couple of serious fouls against us, going down to 10 men for the final few minutes) Maybe add Spurs at home? Certainly felt like Poch got some luck there Not a defeat, but unluckiest goal against (for as far back as I can remember): Newcastle away, Gouffran

rallyboy Posted 25 May, 2015 Share Posted 25 May, 2015 There were some occasions when we got lucky but in no way was it a season of swings and roundabouts - forget the tired cliches, they don't even out. And if someone disagrees, could they highlight the one moment where we benefited from a generous decision that gave us a six point advantage over a rival? That would make up for Kevin Friend's appalling season-altering performance at SMS. But in defence of inadequate refs everywhere, no wonder they struggle, Chris Foy is retiring at 52. How on earth is he expected to keep up with athletes at that age?

Saints foreva Posted 25 May, 2015 Share Posted 25 May, 2015 Lucky: Palace at home springs to mind. They had the better chances and we only scored because of a howler from their keeper. Unlucky: Liverpool at home - Different game if we get that penalty and Can gets sent off in the opening minute. Kevin Friend is a ****.

I'm 58, and I can keep up with the play in any game......As long as the cameraman does his job properly.

Well, the handball by Fonte against Newcastle when they were still in the top half NEARLY makes the list but it's still nowhere near the impact of the awful decisions by Friend against Liverpool. Saint Mikey Posted 26 May, 2015 Share Posted 26 May, 2015 Don't remember Forster making many saves of note, though. No. However, they def should have a had a pen and Hazard slipped when clean through after a poor pass in our own half. We certainly rode our luck in that game. SaintLiam Posted 26 May, 2015 Share Posted 26 May, 2015 Away at OT was very lucky towards the end. Mata, who's usually good in front of goal, had a chance when Fraser deflected it perfectly into him, off target. Then Blind crosses it into him, it's him vs. the goal, and he somehow missed it again.
