Matthew Le God Posted 24 May, 2015 Posted 24 May, 2015 Since football began in 1992 and the Premier League started, only six teams had conceded 33 goals or less in a Premier League season. Saints can now join that list... Chelsea x11 Man Utd x10 Arsenal x8 Liverpool x6 Man C x2 Everton x1 Southampton x1
S-Clarke Posted 24 May, 2015 Posted 24 May, 2015 Proud that we maintained that over the season, the defense has really been the basis of our season. Outstanding organisation and a great shield in Morgan and Wanyama, but there will likely be 1 or 2 big voids to fill in that group for next season. So I hope we focus on working out how to score a fair few more goals as well..!
Big Ron fan Posted 24 May, 2015 Posted 24 May, 2015 Do you think any other top division side has scored over a quarter of its season's goals in 2 games, or 1/3 of them in 3?
Joneth Posted 24 May, 2015 Posted 24 May, 2015 Or you could say we failed to get on the equally arbitrary list of teams who have conceded 32 goals or less.
shurlock Posted 24 May, 2015 Posted 24 May, 2015 Or you could say we failed to get on the equally arbitrary list of teams who have conceded 32 goals or less. MLG at his irrelevant best.
Matthew Le God Posted 24 May, 2015 Author Posted 24 May, 2015 (edited) Or you could say we failed to get on the equally arbitrary list of teams who have conceded 32 goals or less. MLG at his irrelevant best. Could say similar of people using the number of 50's or 100's in cricket as a gauge of how well someone has done. Why 50 and not 49, why 100 and not 99? So why not 33 goals conceded? Edited 24 May, 2015 by Matthew Le God
Pamplemousse Posted 24 May, 2015 Posted 24 May, 2015 Unnecessary attempt to bash MLG, I thought it was an interesting statistic. Let's be proud of our excellent defensive record and overall superb season instead of pointlessly having a go at one another.
