Gorgiesaint Posted 19 May, 2015 Share Posted 19 May, 2015 Couldn't find the original thread, even checked the Muppet Show as probably more likely to be in there given the player involved! Unbelieveably, the basket case club that is Blackpool have extended his contract for a year, even though he hasn't been there since December! And I'm sure the attached article from the will make your heart bleed as pleads poverty. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32794959 http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/blackpool-fc/nile-ranger-blackpool-took-the-mick-out-of-me-1-7222281 I think you've taken the mick out of football Nile. Window Cleaner Posted 19 May, 2015 Share Posted 19 May, 2015 They probably get a government handout for employing a former juvenile delinquant though.

LOL, something like that, or maybe he is being paid £250 a week or something and it makes financial sense to keep him.
The9 Posted 19 May, 2015 Share Posted 19 May, 2015 "On minimum wage and pay as you play" he claims in the Blackpool Gazette link in the OP, so hardly surprising they've kept him on given that he's dirt cheap to employ and helps keep up the pretence of them having a viable squad whilst Oyston continues to do what Oyston is still doing. They do currently have 6 more players with football league starts than Newport County do in their squad though.
VectisSaint Posted 19 May, 2015 Share Posted 19 May, 2015 LOL, something like that, or maybe he is being paid £250 a week or something and it makes financial sense to keep him. Think if you actually read the information he is getting paid nothing per week, i.e. he is on a zero hours contract (I don't buy the minimum wage guff that he wrote). Blackpool (contrary to being called a basket case by the OP) are seemingly being quite savvy by retaining his contract, it means that if he does want to play football again, another club would probably have to pay something in terms of a transfer. They are a basket case. They're a basket case by design.

They can't just say "he's our player" unless he's either already got a contract for another year (or more), has a deal which rolls over automatically on a fixed number of appearances, or if he'd actually accepted the terms. Well apparently they have. I was going to say I don't see how they can do this if they don't know where he is, but it must be part of the contract that they can exercise the option without his "consent". That'll teach me for skim reading at the end of my lunch break and trying to post whilst running out of time. You're right on this VectisSaint, makes sense if they can hold his registration for another year without having to pay him. They might make a few bob if someone is stupid enough to sign him. Blackpool are still a basket case club whilst the Oyston's are in charge mind!!
