Very jealous. Lovely part of the world. Enjoy the red squirrels.

It is very nice up here. I am up here with the family this weekend, house hunting. Looked at 10 yesterday and we have 1 to look at today. We have a top 3 that we need to whittle down to the one to make an offer on.

We have been up here a lot as the sister-in-law lives up here and we have found that the weather changes very quickly, from sunny to pouring with rain, back to sunny.... Even more so than down south!

Also one of the houses we like, backs onto a nature reserve. 5 bedroom, one study, huge kitchen and garden and one ensuite £250k. Pop that in Royston where we live currently and you would be looking at at least half a million!

My wife has a job as a secondary school teacher up here already and I am hoping to work remotely with a drive down to the office one week a month.

Exciting times.

Also looks like Newcastle and Sunderland may stay up and maybe Middlesbrough might go up. There are 3 'away' games right there for me!

Isn't there some olde worlde bye law that has never been cancelled, in Carlisle, that gives you the right to hit/arrest any Scotsman seen wandering the streets after dark?

Lovely part of the world, my daughters all went to Keswick School for a few years.

Make sure you find yourself a proper local butcher that does Real Cumberland Sausage!!

A friends of mine moved up to Cockermouth a few years ago. We went up for his wedding, lovely part of the world. Not sure I'd like to live up north, but it's definitely nice to go sometimes and take in the scenery.
