ladysaint Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 see NP has won it for Leicester hope thats not the kiss of death for him would love to see him do well and put two fingers up to RL.
SaintRobbie Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 It would only be the kiss of death if he were manager of Saints... doesnt apply elsewhere. Nice to see him doing well.
Andy_Porter Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Would really like to see what NP could do with the squad over the summer. I think we would be mid table ish by now.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Would really like to see what NP could do with the squad over the summer. I think we would be mid table ish by now. Not the kind of thing that can ever be proved one way or the other but I suspect this to be true .
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Will Portvliet EVER get manager af the month?......:smt044
thefuriousb Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Will Portvliet EVER get manager af the month?......:smt044 If we were playing in the division below, then it is equally likely oh....IMO
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 If we were playing in the division below, then it is equally likely oh....IMO In that case we can "look forward" to him receiving the award ,whilst Pearson gets it in the CCC.
Kadeem Hardison Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Well done Jan! At least someone has recognised what he is trying do here. I congratulate the Football League/LMA on this brave but deserved decision. I think this a triumph of long term vision over results.

thefuriousb Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 In that case we can "look forward" to him receiving the award ,whilst Pearson gets it in the CCC. Not really as it is, in all probability, less likely that Pearson would repeat the trick in the higher division. Not impossible. Just less likely.
Sad Sam Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Didn't Jan win manager of the week after we beat Reading? Suspect that will be as close as he gets, but I live in Hope.
Alain Perrin Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Would really like to see what NP could do with the squad over the summer. I think we would be mid table ish by now. I have little doubt that with NP at the helm we'd have been top two.
Thedelldays Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 I have little doubt that with NP at the helm we'd have been top two. lol
um pahars Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 I have little doubt that with NP at the helm we'd have been top two. Whilst I admire your attempt at humour during these dark days, I don't really think even dear old Nigel would have managed that. Then again, I don't think he would have had us in the bottom two either!!!!!!
aintforever Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Top 2 is impossible. There is no reason why a good manager couldn't have us comfortably mid-table or sniffing around the play-offs though.
mcjwills Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 got more chance of having a threesome with Kylie Minogue than JP getting us in the top 2
The Tango Man Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Should have kept NP ..he would have been a good manager for us..but we are doing fine, and will probally pass him on the way down coming up with Leicester.
CabbageFace Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 see NP has won it for Leicester hope thats not the kiss of death for him would love to see him do well and put two fingers up to RL. HE WAS **** LIKE THE FIRST STATUE YOU GOT MADE! :smt044
NickG Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 doubt he would still be thought of this highly if he was still here - did a bit of a James Dean and froze his image!
um pahars Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 doubt he would still be thought of this highly if he was still here - did a bit of a James Dean and froze his image! I wouldn't say he froze his image as he has been very effective at Leicester, thereby enhancing his reputation. In a way, he is the perfect foil for those who advocate we do nothing, as the appointment of him at Leicester shows what difference a good manager can make to a team. However, we will never know how highly Pearson would have been thought of this season thanks to the decision making skills of the person now entrusted to run this Club.
