Paul Mitchell Southampton transfer genius?

Every transfer has an element of luck to it, you can cover as many eventualities you can...but there's always a chance it's not how you thought it would be. It happens at every club in the world.

But if you have a good structure in place, then you have the scope to cover as many eventualities as possible and reduce the risk. For as many poor players we've signed, we've signed good ones as well.

Yoshida, Clyne, Jay, Victor, Lovren, Mane, Tadic, Davis, Bertrand, Forster, Cork - Not a bad return from any of those, whether it's on the field performances or eventual profit. I'd include Pelle but I feel he was more of a Koeman signing.

Pelle has been a better signing so far than Tadic.

Tadic has had a bad groin injury for a long time now. Messi wouldn't be as good as he normally is with a groin injury so to judge Tadic over the last few months is harsh. Let's see what he does next season when fully fit again.

Boruc MV of £880k is complete and utter bull. His MV is £0 as he is a free agent in a couple of months.

I would also say that the whole of football has got more expensive and MVs should really all go up. I look at S.Davis and the value of £4.8m which in the scheme of things these days is nothing.
