Pat from Poole Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 Mmmm. Different bench to warm, I guess...... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-rickie-lambert-liverpool-transfer-5635162
Lighthouse Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 I think Chelsea's are made from better leather and have more padding.
Mr Saints Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 If he's going to warm anyone's bench I'd like it to be ours.
Colinjb Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 Better off pushing Pelle for a starting slot. (Yes, yes, I know his time has passed with us.....)
Lets B Avenue Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 So Chelsea had him watched, even though they are playing Liverpool next week? was this done by the same scout, or did they send a second one?
Saint_clark Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Would be absolutely amazing if he signed for them and scored goals, would really make Rodgers look like a f*cking idiot.
Pat from Poole Posted 5 May, 2015 Author Posted 5 May, 2015 I just hope he doesn't sign for Boscombe and score enough goals to keep those peasants up.
ericofarabia Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Can't be any worse than the last forward they got from Liverpool, and certainly a lot lot cheaper than Torres was!! At his age, and going back to his spiritual home, I'm guessing we wouldn't have put in a sell on fee clause in.
Golden Balls Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 I just hope he doesn't sign for Boscombe and score enough goals to keep those peasants up. He'll go there and hopefully he does exactly that.
hasper57saint Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Would be absolutely amazing if he signed for them and scored goals, would really make Rodgers look like a f*cking idiot. He doesn't have to move to Chelsea to do that!!!
the saint in winchester Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Surely he wouldn't come back to a club in the south now. Family man, kids in school etc. If he would, then yes, come back to our bench and push Pelle. I think there may still be a little left in his legs.

It is not going to happen because we won't pay enough.
Donatello Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 It is not going to happen because we won't pay enough. My thoughts exactly. Liverpool will be too difficult about it (their prerogative, of course). They'd probably demand a similar fee back from us (lest they look like mugs). No dice, unfortunately.

They'd probably demand a similar fee back from us (lest they look like mugs). No dice, unfortunately. Nothing to do with the transfer fee, it's about salary, he probably gets double there and we'll not match that, anyway who even knows if Koeman would want him, he has his man, he'll have JRod, he's looking at others, Lambert is a non-starter, especially at 80K a week. I wouldn't want him back, for me he's finished, he had a few decent games last season but he had some stinkers as well, now the stinkers are the norm.
Ohio Saint Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Now that it has been brought to my mind, I can totally see him at Bournemouth. Would be good for all concerned, I think.
positivepete Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 More likely to go to Bayern Munich seeing their penalty debacle last week.
Window Cleaner Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Now that it has been brought to my mind, I can totally see him at Bournemouth. Would be good for all concerned, I think. Why ? They have their own strikers, no doubt at far lesser salaries than Lambert, just can't see the obsession with this bloke, he went where he wanted to go, he's been handsomely rewarded for doing that, now he needs to justify their faith in him.
fanimal Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Different league than that Frog up front, would be an amazing signing for Bmth and would fit their neat style of passing football. Bet he would score 15 goals for them with Ritchie and Artur similar to Adam L of the last 3 seasons.

I beg to differ on pretty much everything you've said
Window Cleaner Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 I beg to differ on pretty much everything you've said Which is of course, your intrinsic right. That said he ain't coming back and he ain't going to the Cherries.
Donatello Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Which is of course, your intrinsic right. That said he ain't coming back and he ain't going to the Cherries. That we agree on
The9 Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Mmmm. Different bench to warm, I guess...... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-rickie-lambert-liverpool-transfer-5635162 How's your garage looking? Cos this is another one.

They have their own strikers, no doubt at far lesser salaries than Lambert, just can't see the obsession with this bloke, he went where he wanted to go, he's been handsomely rewarded for doing that, now he needs to justify their faith in him. I'm guessing you didn't regularly go to games between 2009 and last season?

Lord Duckhunter Posted 6 May, 2015 Posted 6 May, 2015 I'm guessing you didn't regularly go to games between 2009 and last season? I did and I wouldn't want him back in our side . He's not good enough for the 2015/16 season , what he did prior to that is irrelevant .
old_southy Posted 6 May, 2015 Posted 6 May, 2015 Chelsea weighing up move for Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert as Didier Drogba replacement This must be the most insane football headline I have ever read. A couple of years ago just looking at this would make me fall backwards!
LeBizzier69 Posted 6 May, 2015 Posted 6 May, 2015 He'll do an excellent job for whoever takes him on if he leaves, and although it won't happen I'd welcome him back here. So he's got no pace.....he never did have, but having a dead ball specialist (in addition to JWP and who can actually score from free kicks) who scores all sorts of goals, and with his vision and range of passing.....what's not to like? Get his fitness up and confidence back and he'll repay whichever club puts their faith in him in spades. IMO.
sussexsaint Posted 6 May, 2015 Posted 6 May, 2015 It so easily could have been Saints looking to replace Drogba with Lambert a few years ago if the rumours in the Lowe era were correct
david in sweden Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 It so easily could have been Saints looking to replace Drogba with Lambert a few years ago if the rumours in the Lowe era were correct .....and if Chelsea took back Drogba....would Saints consider bringing back .......no... I won't say it ....
Lighthouse Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 This must be the most insane football headline I have ever read. A couple of years ago just looking at this would make me fall backwards! I think Bolton tried to sign Rivaldo once.
