Surely he wouldn't come back to a club in the south now. Family man, kids in school etc.

If he would, then yes, come back to our bench and push Pelle. I think there may still be a little left in his legs.

It is not going to happen because we won't pay enough.

My thoughts exactly. Liverpool will be too difficult about it (their prerogative, of course). They'd probably demand a similar fee back from us (lest they look like mugs). No dice, unfortunately.

Nothing to do with the transfer fee, it's about salary, he probably gets double there and we'll not match that, anyway who even knows if Koeman would want him, he has his man, he'll have JRod, he's looking at others, Lambert is a non-starter, especially at 80K a week. I wouldn't want him back, for me he's finished, he had a few decent games last season but he had some stinkers as well, now the stinkers are the norm.

Now that it has been brought to my mind, I can totally see him at Bournemouth. Would be good for all concerned, I think.

Why ? They have their own strikers, no doubt at far lesser salaries than Lambert, just can't see the obsession with this bloke, he went where he wanted to go, he's been handsomely rewarded for doing that, now he needs to justify their faith in him.

Different league than that Frog up front, would be an amazing signing for Bmth and would fit their neat style of passing football. Bet he would score 15 goals for them with Ritchie and Artur similar to Adam L of the last 3 seasons.

I beg to differ on pretty much everything you've said

I'm guessing you didn't regularly go to games between 2009 and last season?

Chelsea weighing up move for Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert as Didier Drogba replacement

This must be the most insane football headline I have ever read. A couple of years ago just looking at this would make me fall backwards!

He'll do an excellent job for whoever takes him on if he leaves, and although it won't happen I'd welcome him back here. So he's got no pace.....he never did have, but having a dead ball specialist (in addition to JWP and who can actually score from free kicks) who scores all sorts of goals, and with his vision and range of passing.....what's not to like? Get his fitness up and confidence back and he'll repay whichever club puts their faith in him in spades. IMO.
