The Cat Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 Brentford (easy away game) Swindon (for Stephens and Turnball) Plymouth (mate has a season ticket there) From the Championship I'd really rather Middlesbrough didn't come up, especially if Sunderland don't get relegated. There should be a rule about having more than 2 North East clubs in the Premier League.
LGTL Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 Nice of the FL and Sky to put Middlesbrough v Brentford on the Friday nights, and Norwich v Ipswich on the Saturdays. I wonder which one is easier for fans to get to on a week night?
Eric The Red Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 Championship, I'd prefer 1 of the East Anglian sides, good trip League 1, Preston - cos they deserve it League 2, Southend - as they're our 2nd team

I wonder which one is easier for fans to get to on a week night? Police advice around the derby match? Maybe they didn't want it on a Friday night?
Dr Who? Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 Boro maybe, if not Ipswich or Norwich... I will know by tomorrow evening
SuperMikey Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 Brentford - Like their approach, good core of young English players and good manager (although he's offski in the summer) Sheff Utd - Traditional club, much bigger than L1 level Plymouth - They've had a rough time, would like to see them succeed. Always good to have more high level clubs on the South Coast, Skates letting us all down atm..

SuperMikey Posted 4 May, 2015 Posted 4 May, 2015 I agree with plymouth. struggle to see your affinity with them as they are miles away from so'ton In which case i'd like to see Winchester, Totton and Hamble promoted through the play-offs. Forgot you can't like a club that aren't based within 10 miles of the team you support.

The9 Posted 5 May, 2015 Posted 5 May, 2015 Brentford please... Been saying it since January, and now Bournemouth have made it, it'll be another great relatively local awayday. Don't care in L1, already peed off with Preston for letting MK Dons get up, in L2 anyone but Southend because I still haven't managed to get there yet and have been to the rest, and will need Newport to be playing them next season - and on that note, looking forward to Bristol Rovers going up and Grimsby not - though I'd have loved Forest Green (or of course Eastleigh) to have joined Barnet.

I have no strong preference on the others but it might be amusing to watch "The True Geordie" freak out when Newcastle loses to both Middlesboro and Sunderland.
syd_barrett_saint Posted 6 May, 2015 Posted 6 May, 2015 Would love to see Brentford in the Premier League! My Nan and Grandad (never met the latter) were Brentford fans.
saint_jas Posted 6 May, 2015 Posted 6 May, 2015 Norwich - Easy away game to get to. Preston - They should have gone up automatically. Plymouth - Dad season ticket holder and will probably end up at Wembley watching them hopefully in the final now that I haven't got a Man City away ticket.
John Boy Saint Posted 6 May, 2015 Posted 6 May, 2015 I agree with plymouth. struggle to see your affinity with them as they are miles away from so'ton In the Sepia hued days of Football past Plymouth were our arch rivals, surprised FF hasn't been along and pointed that out as that was in one of the Hagiology books. Driving past Southwestern house and the glass canopy round the back makes me think of reading that as that was the main station and after a good win at Plymouth folks waited past midnight (in the days when that was way past most folks bed time) to welcome the return of the victorious Saints players.......... Hood down anorak off. Brentford Swindon Southend
lickierambert Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Stephens and Turnbull are playing for Swindon tonight. Sky Sports 2 if you're interested
Saint-Armstrong Posted 7 May, 2015 Author Posted 7 May, 2015 GOAL: Chesterfield 0-1 Preston - Jermaine Beckford 6'
saintwbu Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Good signs so far from Turnball and Stephens, both like a dribble and Stephens in particular looks very calm & composed on the ball.
Suhari Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Good signs so far from Turnball and Stephens, both like a dribble and Stephens in particular looks very calm & composed on the ball. Seems to have decent feet, and likes the odd rampage forwards.
angelman Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Surprised Bramall Lane is so empty for such an important match.
macca155 Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Brentford (easy away game) There should be a rule about having more than 2 North East clubs in the Premier League. Too right, having made that journey Saturday I don't think I could live with three of them. Bit of luck both Sunderland Newcastle will be relegated. Lets have a nice Southern based Premiership.
Suhari Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Good header. Do away goals still count? No idea. Decent game now though.
Lighthouse Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Good header. Do away goals still count? I know they didn't in 2007
CB Fry Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Good header. Do away goals still count? 99% sure they don't and rightly so.
Patrick Bateman Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Stephens and Turnbull both look competent. But that's just based on this match, anyone know what they've been like throughout the season? About time we produced a central defender!
S-Clarke Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Stephens and Turnbull both look competent. But that's just based on this match, anyone know what they've been like throughout the season? About time we produced a central defender! They've been outstanding all year for them, very highly rated. I think they've both played 40+ games in all comps. Key components to their young team.
GGalpin Posted 7 May, 2015 Posted 7 May, 2015 Stephens and Turnbull both look competent. But that's just based on this match, anyone know what they've been like throughout the season? About time we produced a central defender! Turnbull won FLIC Wiltshire's Player of the Year award, voted for by fans, so I'm guessing he's been pretty decent http://www.flicwiltshire.com/STFC/Jordan-Turnbull-has-been-crowned-YOUR-FLICs-STFC-201415-Player-of-the-Year.aspx#.VUvn0tNVikp
Window Cleaner Posted 8 May, 2015 Posted 8 May, 2015 I see that Harlee Dean is still getting a game for Brentford then..
Katalinic Posted 8 May, 2015 Posted 8 May, 2015 Stephens and Turnbull both look competent. But that's just based on this match, anyone know what they've been like throughout the season? About time we produced a central defender! Swindon season ticket holder at work reckons they are better than most at L1 level but isn't convinced either is ready for Premier League football - I can see both or either going on loan again next season but most likely to a Championship level side.
SuperSAINT Posted 8 May, 2015 Posted 8 May, 2015 I see that Harlee Dean is still getting a game for Brentford then.. Yeah, fair play to him.
SuperSAINT Posted 8 May, 2015 Posted 8 May, 2015 Lee Tomlin always looks like he's 2 stone overweight
Badger Posted 8 May, 2015 Posted 8 May, 2015 Hoping its: Norwich (although won't be too concerned if it were Brentford) Swindon Plymouth.
Dr Who? Posted 8 May, 2015 Posted 8 May, 2015 Now hoping for Boro. Also want Newcastle, Sunderland and Hull to stay up. Hoping for a Saintsvwin tomorrow (of course) then Sunderland to beat Leicester. Looks like I am north bound thanks to my wife and a bit of a promotion.
Jack Posted 9 May, 2015 Posted 9 May, 2015 Hope Brentford turn it around, unlikely though. Anyone but Boro for promotion. Too far north and they ruined our last away day in the Championship. Norwich vs Boro final I reckon, Norwich win.
hutch Posted 9 May, 2015 Posted 9 May, 2015 Looks like I am north bound thanks to my wife Can't you just swallow your pride, and kiss and make up?
Dr Who? Posted 9 May, 2015 Posted 9 May, 2015 Can't you just swallow your pride, and kiss and make up? It is a little dramatic! Cumberland bound!
angelman Posted 11 May, 2015 Posted 11 May, 2015 Interesting Swindon vs Sheffield Utd. Swindon 3-0 up after 18 minutes to take a 5-1 agg lead. Currently after 65 mins it is 4-3 (6-4 on agg).
macca155 Posted 11 May, 2015 Posted 11 May, 2015 This is isn't saying too much for Stephens and Turnball's CV but I guess play offs aren't normal games
nta786 Posted 23 May, 2015 Posted 23 May, 2015 Wycombe winning 1-0, currently in AET. Must say, Southend should've had a penalty and then the guy who committed that foul goes and scores the winning free kick... (which came off the crossbar and hit the keeper in the back so goes down as an own goal)
