Well if we lose our boys can take comfort from the fact they will mostly likely turn out in the PL for saints 1st team while the Chelsea boys will be lucky to even meet the 1st team let alone play for them.

He had a poor first half in the recent cup final, but came back well in the rest of that game. It is good that he has the confidence to try things and if they do not work out have another go. I suspect also that he is one of those that will be doing a lot of upper body work in the next 12 months. He has the talent but physically he is still developing, so hopefully we will see him grow and become a really good player.

At the moment he is heading towards being a Ward Prowse clone - lots of square passing, and as you say, not strong enough. I thought the team were very static at times tonight, and midfield (Gape and Hesketh) need to be a lot more direct. The play was very predictable and the Chelsea defence found it relatively easy to read our moves and snuff out our attacks.

 

i thought our game and shape improved when Gallagher went central and Josh Sims and Marcus came on the wings. Chelsea were worth the win - their 10 and 11 were very good.
