Morgan out until the end of the season

It's the same as last year, I don't see why Wade can't see that. Look, i'm not saying they'll all go for sure and we're screwed etc etc, but it's just simply not the case that he's sent out a clear ''hands off, they're not going''.

Last year he said, probably in May if i recall correctly, that he was ''surprised at the lack of bids for players, but that our intention is to keep this squad together and continue adding to it'' - those were his words, more or less. 2 months on, and we'd shipped out 5 players from that first team.

The club obviously have no intentions of selling off players, that's true.....but if a big club comes in with a big bid and offers big money to the player, then they will go.

Look, if Les has said they're not going to be sold, which he has, then he is going to look a c*nt if they do go.

Last season we were told that Morgan wouldn't be sold and he wasn't. As far as I'm concerned, he's said it again, so the club should be as good as their word.

He hasn't said they're not going to be sold.

Well look at this way we get to try out playing without Morgan and see how we do. We're going to have to get used to doing so any way lets just let Reed (rather than Toby as a DM) have a few games and see how he does.

We need to play the best possible team. There are still things that need to be done.

Why. He said the same last summer and after a cracking start to the season all was forgiven.

He said Morgan was staying and he did. He's repeated the comment again, so I expect him to stay. Feel free to continue to patronise me.

Wade, come on.

It was Ralf last year who said ''Jay and Morgan aren't going anywhere'', and Les has NOT said, anywhere, what so ever, in this recent media-release that Morgan will NOT be sold. It may not be our intention to sell them, but he hasn't come out and said they won't be sold.

Only after I spat my dummy and threatened to boycott a game ;)

Didn't mean to be patronising. Sorry WG. I seem to remember The same being said last year a few weeks before the end of the season.

You remember the same as me then. Les Reed gave quite a long interview, part of which was a blunt statement that any enquiries about players would be met with a response of "not for sale." If I wasn't on my phone I'd find the interview, its probably still online somewhere.

If you come out with nonsense like that you deserve to be patronised.

He could at least stay till end of August so he can say goodbye first or second game of the season

He could play for us in Europa League qualifying and still play in the Champions League for his new club.

Go and read what Les actually said because it was nothing like "Morgan is staying"

quite right. If I recall reading the original quote it was.. "..it is not our intention to sell players .." (which isn't the same as saying ...no-one is leaving).

There are a number of reasons why the departure of, at least one or two players would be a win-win situation, we will see at the end of the season.

absolutely Steve. I fully expect at least two departures from the first team squad. Every player has a price, and if another club meet our £ demands.. they'll go.

He qualified the statement with a "probably" last year. This year, "not our intention". Of course, last year Reed did the interview a few days after Ralph's post Man Utd comments about speaking to clubs about our players which was in an effort to settle everything down but nothing was ever definite until the Schneiderlin episode later in the summer.

Appears we may get to see Morgan in a saints shirt at least one last time this season

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32623511

"If everything goes well, he can be ready for Manchester City (on the final day of the season). If there is a surprise he will play at home against Aston Villa."

Apparently we've had no serious offers either...if you believe the Daily Star that is, perhaps it's just an old Koeman quote being recycled by the European Press.

This would be why I said "the hard of thinking will read this as no-one is leaving". Reed said exactly the same sort of stuff last year. We don't want to sell anyone (other than possibly Clyne and Rodriguez if they don't sign new contracts), but that doesn't mean we won't sell them, and that we haven't also planned to replace anyone who might go.

I think we can be completely sure they have been working on plans to replace anyone who might go. What if we get a 25 million pound offer for Bertrand or Pelle? Unlikely I admit, but they would be accepted and plans would be in place to replace them.
