Which is why I don't believe the Spurs interest in the Olympic stadium was fleeting.

Who knows but one thing is clear, Haringey Council were desperate to keep Tottenham in the borough, as was the Mayor of London, because White Hart Lane development and associated infrastructure is an integral part of major regeneration of Seven Sisters Rd following the riots. An interest in the Olympic Stadium, fleeting or otherwise, would not have done any harm in levering in the funding. Bear in mind also that West Ham were always front runners for Stratford. Here also, the politicians wanted to keep them in Newham.

Oh Morgan, please don't go to Spurs. I wouldn't begrudge him a move to any of the top 4, but to see him move sideways would be such a waste

Bias aside, it probably isn't a sideways move though is it ? Who do you think have the more realistic prospects of a top four finish us, or them ?

Reed should just issue a Lowe type announcement .."we're not doing business with North London yobbos".

Do you think he would go to Spurs, if we get into Europe and Spurs do not. I think he would be welcome with open arms at Arsenal and play champions league football.

I cannot see him going to Spurs.

Provided of course Arsenal can't find anyone cheaper to do the job, the price tag is too high for them and they won't pay anywhere near what we'd probably want. They have options which will cost far less.

Maybe United then. Not sure if he is even on their radar, but the sort of player they need, to stop getting over run in midfield, to much lightweight in there.

Some interesting quotes I read from MP earlier, but it was within an article discussing the appointment of Paul Mitchell.

“I think that we need to be more clever than the teams that invest more money than us. It is for that, I am very happy because we create a very strong institute now and follow the players around the world”

He is needed by any top 6 side. All seem to need to improve on their CDM positions, or he's simply better than the ones they have. Utd are especially weak there as they rely on the ancient Carrick, but if Chelsea want to keep winning they'll have the best CDM partnership in Matic and Morgan.

We're about as far off the CL as Spurs are. I've said a few times that bar Kane, Erikson and Lloris, this is a bang average Spurs squad.

Morgan is 25 now and if he wants to play Champions League football, I have no problem with that. Forgetting Pochettino and all that, I think it would be such a waste for him to sign for them.

Do you think Spurs can finish above one of the current top 4 next season?

we are having a fabulous season, spurs are having an average season

They are above us, will probably be the same next year and had a cup final....

whether that is enough for Morgan, not too sure

I think you could say had one them sustained a long term injury they'd be looking at mid table

I hope it wouldn't be. Taking Saints/Pochettino out of the equation for a second, I would still hate for him to go to Spurs.

I think he'd improve the starting 11 of any team in the country apart from maybe Chelsea. He deserves a stage like the Champions League and, in my opinion, Spurs would be an awful career move for him as I can't see them getting Champions League any time soon.

They probably have delusions of CL football, and will be able to sell that to a player, especially being a club in the capital, young progressive manager and all that.

As you say, I'd accept MS's desire to play in the Champions League, and hope he finds it with either Chelsea or Arsenal. I think he will have sold himself short if joining Spurs, but it is a little blinkered to think they could not make it attractive for him, and MP may indeed be part of it. Hope he doesn't go there, as I detest them more than the skates.
