A significant day in Saints history.

Today 25th April, seems to be a big day in the history of Southampton Football Club. Today could be as well, if we want to finish in the top 6.

Wednesday April 25th 2007 -

Saints fans were mourning the death of Alan Ball, who died of a heart attack after trying to put a bonfire out in his garden. The manager who got the best out of Le Tissier for sure. RIP.

Saturday April 25th 2009 -

Saints were already relegated to league One, but the 2-2 draw at home to Burnley did mean that we were relegated without the 10 point deduction. This was carried over to the next season were Saints started their league one campaign on minus 10.

Tuesday April 25th 1978 -

By a curious quirk of fate Saints clinched promotion to the top flight, by coming from behind to draw at Orient - just as they had done in 1966. And again the equaliser came from a header, this time from Tony Funnell. Again promotion was all but mathematically secure barring a total freakish set of results.

Saturday April 25th 2015 -

Saints v Spurs - hopefully we will be able to fill this in with something positive to square up the positive to negative dates in history?

A win today would be huge.... Follow this up with a win at the stadium of light next weekend and we will be in a very strong position.

I've been doing this for many years........ Today feels like one of those massive massive games.

Stomach's doing cartwheels, but buzzing all over.

It does have a feel of a very big game. Win and we are only 2 points above Spurs, but lose could be the end of our dream, with an away game next and Spurs at home. But it is Man City.
