angelman Posted 29 January, 2016 Posted 29 January, 2016 As DM states above. And experience wise, IF he starts Swansea will be better than Rangers. But then I would have a concern that he might fancy Swansea rather more than us, and we might lose his heart to them.
Saint Charlie Posted 1 February, 2016 Posted 1 February, 2016 Still nothing on Reed. He could also move in the loan window, but do find it strange he hasn't already. He is clearly above U21 football yet also not going to get many/any starts at Saints unless we have a lot of sudden injuries. Would have to say this season hasn't really ever started for Reed - he must be gagging for a loan move.
wild-saint Posted 1 February, 2016 Posted 1 February, 2016 I would say so, the relegation scrap is heating up. At the moment we are comfortable but a couple of defeats and we could be right back in it. dont be a ****. 6 points from safety with bundles of games left.

Give it to Ron Posted 1 February, 2016 Posted 1 February, 2016 Reed doesn't have to move today though if going to Championship. With Davis injured no rush for us Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think he has all the attributes to do well in the Prem, just needs experience to help him learn when to tackle, when to drop off, concentration levels etc. A loan would seem obvious.
Lets B Avenue Posted 1 February, 2016 Posted 1 February, 2016 Swansea have gone for Leroy Fer instead. Strange that.

Once it became clear in October or so that he wasn't going to be used in the first team then he should have been getting proper games rather than diluted U21 stuff. Hope for his sake something is sorted for him soon or this season might seem a waste of time for him and he may well start getting a bit frustrated about his future here as even if Wanyama goes we will surely replace with someone else.

FriendlySaint Posted 29 August, 2016 Posted 29 August, 2016 Reed is better than Romeu for me hands down. He isn't as small as people claim either. I find it very frustrating that he hasn't had more game time considering he's young, English and an academy player and clearly is a decent player. He's a great ball winner and has a lot of potential to improve if only he had been given more game time...
New Forest Steve Posted 29 August, 2016 Posted 29 August, 2016 http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/08/29/derby-and-wolves-eye-reed/ Probably for the best if we're not going to use him, tho' I do find it strange he's not in our first teams plans. He looked ready to me when he had his first team run a couple seasons ago, before Koeman cold shouldered him
SuperSAINT Posted 29 August, 2016 Posted 29 August, 2016 Rather Reed than Clasie Clasie really has no excuses this season. A system focusing on short passing should suit him perfectly.

I don't really care what he does for you, the rest of the world can see he's not anything like as good as Romeu at the moment, and his nasty habit of kicking people up in the air when he has no chance of getting the ball isn't going to help him or anyone else. Having said that, he's as close to the first team as any of the kids other than Ward-Prowse and Targett at the moment.

Emergency loans are now banned and players can only go on loan inside transfer windows. So if he's still with us on Sep 1st he's staying until at least New Year.

The9 Posted 29 August, 2016 Posted 29 August, 2016 He put that on February 1st.. Good point, I worked backwards from the "Today" ones, should have noticed. He's still no further on though under yet another manager though which tells you something.
Dalek2003 Posted 29 August, 2016 Posted 29 August, 2016 Clasie really has no excuses this season. A system focusing on short passing should suit him perfectly. Yes, if he can pass sideways and scuttle across the pitch in a crab like fashion he will be perfect.
david in sweden Posted 30 August, 2016 Posted 30 August, 2016 Harrison Reed has "proven " himself in our youth squads - and even played U20/21 (?) for England, yet doesn't look close to ousting any of the regular squad members. He needs football week-and-out, and a loan to Championship club would be a win-win situation. His loan club would get a tough midfielder and Saints could see exactly what his performance level is for future planning.
