Koeman is genuinely a sixth place manager

Impossible to say. The question is a bit pointless to be honest. its not logical. It would suggest that if he was man city manager he would finish 6th. Or if he was burnley manager he would finish 6th.

I think the way he talks, his composure, the way he motivates players, his credibility as a player, his record of tactical decisions this season, his leadership, and political acumen would suggest he is good enough to manage any team. I would rather have him than pellegrini.

If I had to rank the managers- I'd genuinely put Koeman in second.

Maybe I have my Saints rose-tinted spectacles on LOL

However, he is definitely top 4: Mourinho, Van Gaal and Wenger (coincidentally they are top 3 clubs) and Koeman would be my top 4 (in no particular order)

However, maybe it wouldn't be a biased or stupid thing to say Koeman is the best in the Prem- after all, he is being touted as manager of the year by many people!

I will give a shoutout to Pardew too, who has done an excellent job at Crystal Palace. Sean Dyche, if he keeps Burnley up too, then he deserves a shoutout too.

...and a League One keeper...

How funny, all you hypocrites who criticised the heck out of me for stating how poor Mane was a couple of weeks ago are now jumping on the bandwagon.

Yes, he's probably the worst player to pull on a Saints shirt since Ali Dia.

Absolutely no touch.

Keystone Kops ball control

Never beats his man - well, sometimes HE does, but the ball is left behind.

His pace is almost irrelevant since he runs up to the defender then slows the game down or stops completely.

Seeing his "shots" almost hit the corner flag is embarrassing.

Shane Long is a real footballer, this guy is 10 million flushed down the toilet.

not to forget 'the worst player to pull on a Saints shirt since Ali Dia'.

As in, the Managers above him in the table are better than him?

I'm pretty sure a few of them wouldn't be able to get Saints in the position we're in this season.

I would go on record and say I would only back Mourinho to go to a new country, join a team a middle table team that has lost 4 key players in its 2nd year in the top league and get them somewhere between 4-7th position.

Its taken Van Gaal 250million to be 9 points better off than us and he was starting from a higher quality of team.

All I want to know is where does all this leave me as a supporter?

As things stand you are a 6th place supporter. But if you don't do well between now and end of season you could be a 7th place supporter, so make sure you try bloody hard, who knows you may improve to be a 5th place supporter if you do.

What LVG doesn't have however is "the belief and spirit of the time", something RK reminds us every interview ;)

Time? Team*. Can't edit. Double post, so I'll say something meaningful.

I'm not quite sure of the concept of a "sixth place manager", could someone elaborate?

I liked it better as "time". It made me think some. Always a good thing.

Looking at those above us, I don't think Rodgers could get Saints to 6th, doubt Pellegrini would as he's failed to motivate City's millionaires for a long time now, and know for damn sure Pochettino wouldn't have been as successful this season as Koeman has been with his tactical tweaks - plus the team would be dead on its feet by now.

I think Mourinho can achieve anywhere, Wenger would go back to scouting roots to bring the kids through though its arguable, van Gaal could... probably... but he has different strengths.

Of those outside the top 7, Pulis could do something but you wonder about limitations, Pardew... mmm, too much silliness around the management and you wonder if his success at Palace is due to his level, and Roberto Martinez will prove next season where Everton really are without Europe distracting them. Can't see Monk or anyone else doing as good a job.

So he's a top 6 manager.
