alpine_saint Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 What was your honest reason when you lived locally Who said I didnt go ?
saintwarwick Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Who said I didnt go ? Your absence was more constant than your attendance that is a fact.
alpine_saint Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Your absence was more constant than your attendance that is a fact. How do you know ? And you've accused me on non-attendance, not insufficient attendance (though who appointed you judge I will never know). "Fact" ? Bit arrogant isnt it ?
Harry Bloggs Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 first post Why does it matter that it's my first post?
John B Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Why does it matter that it's my first post? Because he may not agree with your sensible view
Boris Karloff Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Why does it matter that it's my first post? Because things like that are very important around here. If have taken the option of having a life, and don't have several thousand posts under your belt, you are accused of being Rupert Lowe.
manji Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Why does it matter that it's my first post? You are supposed to come on here foaming at the mouth and drop these assorted comments in "lowe-life" "luvvie" "bleeding us dry" "laughing stock" "we are ****" "end up in conference" "worst team" "administration" "will lose 6 nil" "demo" "boycott" "dutch jokers" "not fit to" "wear shirt" "pr plant" build your posts around these phrases and you will be fine.
buctootim Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Dont bother with the re-writing history ******** Alpine. I, and I suspect most other posters remember the parade of excuses (sorry valid in your own conciousness reasons) you used to trot out for not going.
Fan The Flames Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Because he may not agree with your sensible view Because it's really sensible to claim moaning on here makes the players negative.
Fowllyd Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 You are supposed to come on here foaming at the mouth and drop these assorted comments in "lowe-life" "luvvie" "bleeding us dry" "laughing stock" "we are ****" "end up in conference" "worst team" "administration" "will lose 6 nil" "demo" "boycott" "dutch jokers" "not fit to" "wear shirt" "pr plant" build your posts around these phrases and you will be fine. Or 'bed-wetters' perhaps...
Fan The Flames Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 People on here should spend less time having a go at Alpine and friends and get behind the team. FFS. I know everyones entitled to their own opinion but the fanatical moderates petty blind hatred of a few posters is becoming more important than supporting the team. Thats not on FFS, be more positive about our fellow supporters and get behind the team.
John B Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Because it's really sensible to claim moaning on here makes the players negative. Yes I agree with your second post Moaning does very little except making fans more depressed than they already are. The club is in a bad situation because of the excessive wages paid to very average players in the past. It appears to me that Lowe's plan is the only way forward build a new team with good young players paying realistic wages. It might not be successful for some time and there is no real reason for fans to be abusive to the board players and coaching staff as it does not help in the development of the team.
um pahars Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Or 'bed-wetters' perhaps... Or of course attacking and mocking those who dared to suggest that Jan's abilities may have been a tad exagerated when he was first appointed. Some fine hypocrisy in this thread.:smt078
alpine_saint Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Dont bother with the re-writing history ******** Alpine. I, and I suspect most other posters remember the parade of excuses (sorry valid in your own conciousness reasons) you used to trot out for not going. Such as ? Every reason I have ever given on here or the predecessor sites for not attending a game whilst I lived in the UK has been given elsewhere by SOGGY today, and I dont see him getting abuse. Oh, of course...It's the combination of being "negative" (I prefer realistic) about the current team and the management set-up in combination with attendance history that is the killer punch...
sadoldgit Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Such as ? Oh, of course...It's the combination of being "negative" (I prefer realistic) about the current team and the management set-up in combination with attendance history that is the killer punch... Alpine, I think you will find that it is the way that you post, your constant negativity (which stretches way back beyond the current regime) the way that you dismiss anyone who disagrees with you and the abuse that you dish out regularly and your Mr Angry online persona which all single you out for attention. You are in no way realistic. You constantly use anything and everything to attack the club and the people who run it. If a CB is recalled it is the end of life as we know it in your book. A previous manager was supposed to be sabbotaging our attempts to get promoted. Realistic??? No just very childish and pathetic. A realistic person looks at all angles and makes objective judgements. You just wade in with your size 12s and seize on virtually every bit of news/gossip and turn it into a negative attack. I have lost count of the number of threads that you have started on here that are NEGATIVE. I remember not so long ago a game when we were two nil up, playing well and going for a third, and all you could muster up was "oh, I hope we can hang on." Don't you think that a realistic person would look at the current situation something like this? That we have Lowe back, like it or not. We don't have any money like it or not. We have a new set up which is was never going to deliver overnight but is part of a long term strategy, like it or not. We were always going to have tough year like it or not. That this is our club and although we might be unhappy with what is going on, the people that are here are doing their best in difficult circumstances and need support (and constructive rather than destructive critisism)rather than be torn apart at every opportunity by cyber warriors who have never played football at a decent level, never run a fooball club and have absolutely no idea of what is going on behind the scenes. Your positive posts are few and far between Alpine and you seem to revel in the club's misfortune. I think you biggest problem is that you think that everyone thinks like you or ought to think like you, and that if thye don't then there is something wrong with them. Perhaps you should go back and try reading some of your old threads as if written by someone esle. My God they are depressing. Realists do not make negative assumptiosn about everthing that happens. You do. Isn't the whole point about following a football club about the belief that no matter what happens today, that things will be better tomorrow? That we will win the next game. That we will have a decent cup run. They we will be promoted again one day. That we will put 6 past United again one day? You seem to get your kicks from thinking that we will lose the next game. That we will be out of the cup. That we will get relegated. That United will put 6 past us. If that is the case why even bother? You are not a realist. You are a pessimist. If you really cannot see that Alpine then I genuinely feel sorry for you. People want dreams but all you do is p*ss all over those dreams and offer up nightmares. You are like some characature of a goth football supporter conjured up by Tim Burton. Your posts depress the hell out of me Alpine. More so than anything Lowe has ever done. We all know things are cr*p. We don't need you coming on every day and rubbing our noses in it thanks. We want to believe that there is a better tomorrow. You just seem to want the people at the club, and the club as a whole, to fail so you can come back and tell us all that you were right all along. In your world tomorrow is rubbish so get in first and drag everyone down with you. Did you actually wish people Happy New Year last night? Or being a "realist" did you tell people that their houses would be worth less in 2009, they were likely to lose their jobs and someone they know will get cancer?
NickG Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 Well said Washsaint but you still have to remember the bed-wetters are still in a minority. They are always going to punch over thier weight on message boards and the like. You only have to witness the complete lack of protests at the Reading game dispite predictions of widespread disruption on here before the game. Its like the loonies that write to the BBC to complain about swearing while millions dont give a toss, they have a big impact but dont actually count for anything. Something someone else mentioned on here as well.I was trying to compile a list of clubs who had a good spell in the top flight before falling on hard times, heres a few Notts Forest,Norwich,Ipswich,Oldham,Palace,Portsmouth(soon),Charlton,Watford,Coventry,QPR, Leeds,Leicester,Swindon and so on.It happens to football clubs get over it,grow up stop looking for scapegoats and support your team. Unless I find out that Lowe blocked some multi-million pound takeover of Southampton I believe we have to settle with what we have got for the forseeable future. The fact that the antis are suggesting that Crouch and/or McMenemy are possible saviours of the club show how redundant thier ideas are. I look forward to attending Sundays game and getting behind the team while the bed-wetters plan fly-overs,waving white hankies, giant banners, red cards and mass walk outs that will never happen. good and realistic post
View From The Top Posted 1 January, 2009 Posted 1 January, 2009 I notice it's the same pr1cks on this thread who did nothing but run the club down and slag everything off over the last two years or so who are now saying how the OP is so good. Wash is a c*ck. All he did was moan, complain, slag off and ***** the moment Lowe was removed, just like Manji, who said he was going to watch Hampshire instead of Saints, which was a boycott by another name. Cvnts the lot of them and they'll soon have the club they deserve.
graymalkin33 Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 Indeed. If he does not like it, he does not have to read it. And why did it need a new thread ??? Attention-seeking ? Well i agree with the sentiments on the top of this thread. People like Alpine are actually the attention seekers, like posting 3 times instead of once. I know you get all sorts on message boards but looking at this forum you wouldnt believe we all supported the same team. Its astonishing really. I think you could actually find less hatered between Saints and Pompey fans at the moment. This forum and SOME people on it are just unbelievable at times.
corky morris Posted 2 January, 2009 Posted 2 January, 2009 Yep - Lets just accept it happens to football clubs & move on.................WHAT? Why do we have to accept it? It was Lowes ineptitude on so many levels that took us down & I have to sit here & accept him make similar mistakes again & keep my gob shut & blindly follow the team? Sorry mate. I was bought up to question things that i did not understand or did not agree with. We did NOT have to go down! I can still see Lowe on MOTD on the evening we beat Blackburn at home 3-2 saying that Luggy was not getting the sack. Arrogant as ever - zero integrity. Strachan saying he was going to get a hip replacement. He never did.

Manji, Whether the criticisms of lowe are justified or not, you are wrong to think it's the minority that want him gone. Take a trip round Southampton before a match, bars, pubs, working mens clubs, wine bars and restaurants and the general sense of opinion that i have come across is that we would be better of without him. Think back to that Ipswich game, that was near on 80% of the stadium and given things are worse now than they were then, i wouldn't have thought things have changed in his favour. Personally the whole politics and boardroom shinanigans have taken their toll and me and whilst they ALL continue to to treat SFC as a ****ing contest and look to score points of each other at the expense of the clubs best interests, I remain twiddling my fingers on a Saturday afteroon. I used to support lowe but the arguments i made to defend him, no longer hold water and he lurches from one bad decsion to another, that will lead us to another relegation. You can find draw a list of other clubs suffering similar fates, but I genuinely beleive our plight, is a direct result of poor manangement, leadership and awful decisions - in brief completely avoidable and before long you will have other fans / chairmen saying, "We don't want to do a Southampton"
