Think he deserves a thread of his own.

I have to admit I winced when it dawned on me that KD was going to play the rest of the season after Fraser's injury. However I think he's done a brilliant job in the circumstances so far.

The quality of our defence does help to a point but KD has already pulled off some key stops in the games played so far. He has really struggled in the PL previously but at 38 years young he really has been a solid backup and done a thoroughly professional job. I thought he was finished in the PL years ago but he has proved me wrong.

Fair play to him, great servant to the club.

I have a huge amount of respect for KD. I think he completely "gets it", when it comes to recognising the difference between a paying fan, and a well paid footballer. I'm certain he isn't our highest earner. I'm certain he could have taken a better paid job at West Ham before we were in the top flight, but he put his family first, and accepted a good wage - close to home, as opposed to a bigger wage - away from home. For this I salute him. I've met him once and he is the epitome of what you want a club pro to be. Clubs used to do testimonials for long serving players as a pay-day for them. This isn't needed anymore, but if there was a KD testimonial, I would go. Twice.

I look forward to Irene's comments on how **** KD is and how Koeman and Saints ****ed up by letting his/her boy go.

But pettiness aside, so so pleased that KD has had a part to play. Some might have forgotten that he could easily have left us for WHU when we went into admin but he chose to stick around. He could quite have easily done a Boruc and refused to stick around to warm the bench. As it is, some top class saves, 1 goal conceded in 3 games. A dodgy kick or two, but some top class saves.

Is he due a testimonial at all?

Normally 10 years for a testimonial isn't it? In which case next summer would be a decade of service for Kelvin - I hope the club offer him one he deserves it.

I'm sure they will - I don't think it was coincidence that he signed a contract extension to 2016.

He'll be hitting 40 and be due for a testimonial as the current deal runs out...

Watching that save low to his left in real time was amazing. Proper top class, any top team keeper doing that would have motd waxing lyrical about it so we'll see.

On the other side though I still can't help but be nervous about his kicking.

Had a chat with him in Palafrugell after the pre season game like you say what a nice chap, loved the fact that him and the team probably made our holiday that year.

He has conducted himself perfectly all the time he has been here. No hissy fits, and kept himself superfit when needed. Burnley match and today, superb reaction saves, and coming out early for last man interceptions.

Highly respected in his role as Club Captain, surely deserves a Puncheonesque chant about willy waving anticcs ... "He'll be running round the changing room, with his willy hanging out, Kelvin, Kelvin."

Total respect for the man.

He has performed admirably. His starting positions are an upgrade on Fraser although he probably doesn't have the same physical presence at set pieces. His save today was very very good.

Shame Boruc couldn't have kept his toys in the pram and acted professionally like SKD.

Agree about KD. Tbf, he's probably a better keeper than Forster... maybe he'll prove that over the next few games. He's not in the same league as a lot of the Prem gk's but he's a dependable reserve goalkeeper and we're lucky to have him.

Anyway, if Boruc had stayed, he'd have displaced Forster anyway, I'm sure.

No hissy fits? You clearly weren't at Hillsborough when wednesday did us 5-0 or so with kelvin diving over three shots then giving the fans the bird when we took the ****!

Has redeemed himself though and is clearly still decent.

With our defense shipping only 22 goals in 32 compared to the 40 we had conceded in 32 last season, and 46 that Spurs have conceded this season, I'd add thanks to Dave Watson.

It seems that his goalkeeping coach techniques must outweigh Toni Jiminez's.

I hope to see similar improvements for Gazzaniga.

I was, and that was a proud man who knew he was having a mare and didn't need us to get on his back. Top man, no better club captain.

That save in the second half was excellent. Looked like his body shape was initially going the other way but he readjusted and got down sharply to palm it away. He must be loving it playing in the top flight behind such a tight, well organised defence.

Hmmm, Gazza. Not sure we'll be seeing much more of him. But KD, when FF went down, I groaned, but today, I looked at him and saw him as a bit of a rock at the back. My only concern is what happens if he get's injured.

I have no shame in linking this:

Kelvins double save, wow. And Rickie's finish... If there hadn't been a net, somebody behind the goal would have died. Literally died.

Worth watching again.

Lol dig out the thread that followed that game on here and if you said anything of the sort you were in a minority of about one alot myself included thought he would be luck to play for the club again he was utterly shocking that day and his reaction to having it pointed out to him by the paying punters many of whom had travelled the length of the country was pathetic.

Like I say he's turned it round since then which is something he deserves credit for but to pretend his career here is blemish free is for me simply not true.

Kelv was great today on a day when, first half especially, the defence were looking a little disorganised. Great saves in the second half too.

I've said loads of times that I had no confidence in ability to win games without Forster and Boruc in goal. Kelv is still a little bit rusty and perhaps a little nervy. He's usually got a better defence in front of him than he had today. Ok, I know they didn't score, but Hull aren't tearing up the goalscoring charts, but they seemed up for it today and Kelv had a big part to play in keeping them out.

Super Kelv about accurate today.

Dint get to go today unfortunately but apparently he had another good game.

Is there an awful lot of difference between hm and Forster...????

Do oher teams hear Forsters reputation and think they're not going to score so don't shoot, but when Kelvin is in goal then think "lets have a pop"...im sure some of it is in the mind.....

Anyway...good on you Kelv.

Probably simpler than that. Surely it's just a case of a team trying to exploit what they think is a weak link.

Backup keeper that hasn't had many recent competitive fixtures under its belt.

When Boruc got taken off during the 2013 3-1 defeat against Chelsea, Mourinho instructed his lot to shoot from long-range against Gazzaniga.

I like the way he has the line set up for a corner with players on the posts certainly saved us today.

Yes, he certainly seems more comfortable and confident behind a well organised defence than when we had a leaky dithery back four in the not too distant past.

KD was my man of the match. A difficult choice between him, Jose and Schneiderlin, but for me, cometh the hour, cometh the man.Well done KD, club captain!

That was the game when at halftime Kelvin had 2of our players by the throat as they didn't care. Rudi and the Dutch centre back. This is fact.

It always amazes me when people say a keeper dives over the ball 3times. If any of you go into goal in the park and have some of the shots come at you at the power and swerve a modern player can produce, you may have a bit more understanding

Keeper keeps a clean sheet and make other keeper who kept clean sheets average. Your trolling is far below average today making other trolls look superb.

Well yes since the only argument people had for Forster being good was the amount of clean sheets he's had. Davis has kept just as many as not been a sketchy fuker who doesn't leave his line and can't get close to anything below hip height.

I wouldn't bother trying to explain the difference between a good or bad goalkeeper on here... Most struggle with the concept that Forster is actually terribly, embarrassingly average. His deficiencies are superbly masked by the defensive strength in front of him, though he still finds time almost every game to f**k something up.

Hence he's got more League One attributes than Prem.

That is just hyperbole. Which of his attributes are that of a League One keeper? Have you forgotten how terrible League One keepers are?

Forster is one of the best keepers in the Premier League. Very few I'd prefer to have over him.
