a) Sherwood you absolute c#@#. Thank you.

b) Enjoyed Pardew going to Sunderland and winning at last, and spectacularly too. The Toon "faithful" won't know what to feel tonight, enjoying a Sunderland tonking but dished out by their nemesis. Well done Pards.

To me, if anything, it shows up what an utterly horrific manager Neil Warnock is. That was always a good Palace side, as Pulis showed in the previous season. What Warnock did to them is beyond me, but fair play to Pardew who has got the best out of their attacking 3 - their wing play is as good as any, that is their strength - and they play to it. Really pleased for Pards to be honest, the Newcastle job was a very hostile environment and it's nice to see him sticking 2 massive fingers up to that fat **** ashley.

Pardew has even managed to turn Glen Murray in to a credible PL striker....

Amazing how many saints fans were happy to see the back of him when he got the sack here always thought he was a decent PL manager.

Some managers fit some clubs and don't fit others. Pardew at Palace is clearly a good fit all round. He doesn't have the background nonsense going on like at Newcastle. Not sure that Pardew was ever 100% comfortable with Saints. NA on the other hand was a really good match until we got back to the Premier League.

It wasn't that many Saints fans. Many knew he would have taken us up to the Championship that season.

It was the blind devotion to someone else that could do know wrong in their eyes that led them to think this, brushing over the fact that a very good manager was sacked and replaced with one not as good.

Exactly, and look how that turned out. Think of where we could have been.

Pardew has done an outstanding job at Palace and they play a cracking brand of attacking football. My toon supporting friends are very confused about how/what to feel. :D

Surely not that confusing. They hounded him out with delusions of grandeur.

They are an odd club. Big support like Sunderland because of a concentrated population but not exactly a powerhoise of English football.

Hope Sunderland go down and Newcastle get real.

I don't really remember anyone being especially happy to see the back of him? Most were pretty baffled.

Indeed. It's an interesting rewriting of history that an "amazing number of saints fans were happy to see the back of him." I think most of us remember his time here quite fondly, and were confused why he was forced out. He gave us that amazing day out at Wembley, and laid the foundations for NA's success (bringing in good players, most notably SRL).

Exactly, and look how that turned out. Think of where we could have been.

We could have been in the Premier League managed by someone who had before Saints finished ninth in that division straight after promotion into it, plus got to cup final and qualified for Europe; and after leaving Saints finished fifth and qualified for Europe again with another club. And won LMA manager of the year. And seems to be doing okay at yet another Premier League club.

Is that where we could have been?

It's worked out fine for all involved but let's not pretend we'd have spent five years in L1 under Pardew.

Where's that little short bloke now?

Could'o, would'o, should'o.

Just remind me again who said we'd have spent 5 years in league 1?

That Cortese thing is really tricky to let go of for you isn't it? ;-)

Someone I know went to one of those Season Ticket lottery soirées with Cortese, over nibbles the Pardew question was asked. Markus wanted to bin Pardew because we went after the JPT despite being told to ignore it, Cortese talked Markus round and admitted that the JPT Final turned out to be one of MLs most enjoyable days and all was well. Following the JPT win ML & NC felt that Pardew took the foot off the gas in pursuit of the play-offs with an attitude of Silverware in the cupboard that's a good result for the season.

Like has been said above some managers fit and others don't

Exactly what I thought. The guy is an annoying prat, but he's obviously switched on when it comes to tactics (and especially nullifying Pochettino's tactics)

Hmmm, I remain to be convinced by Sherwood. Literally anyone could have improved Villa on Lambert's efforts just by making them less defensive and stop them playing only on the counter, and they've got a mid-table squad that was dramatically underperforming before.

As for having Pochettino's number - I think that's more to do with him knowing most of Tottenham's personnel very well - we saw a similar thing with Saints getting nullified by Spurs at WHL - if you know players inside out you have a very good idea of how to make life most difficult for them. Though it doesn't hurt when the manager has "a style" and no plan B. Stop Kane and you stop Spurs at the moment.

You appear to have changed my name to another forum contributor when you've quoted me there. You're an odd one and no mistake.

Why have you quoted someone else and changed the name to me? Weird behaviour.

Sherwood is the new Redknapp, tells it as it is and wears his heart on his sleeve. No political correctness with him and despite all the sceptics and Sherwood- haters on here is set to become one of the great English managers.

I hope he is more careful with his taxes and does not contract to take a cut out of transfer fees.

Really? He is possibly the most annoying man to be interviewed too. I don't think that's a skill Redknapp could ever claim.

So does that mean you also rate Redknapp?

QPR looking good against chelsea here

oddly, only Messi has more assists in 2015 than Matt Phillips.....(so I heard on the radio)..WTF?

It's since 1 Jan. Over the course of the season Fabregas has 16 to Phillips' 7 in the PL.

Draw

Why? If we are to still have an outside chance of the top four, I think its better one of them goes on a bad run, we don't need to catch them both. A draw is the one thing I think we shouldn't want as they both pull further away, a defeat keeps one of them closer.

It then comes down to which one to win...

Man Utd have a tougher on paper remaining set of fixtures OR Man City who are a point closer to us and we face on the final day. Hard to decide between the two, as both have merits.
