Leicestersaint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 This is now a big test for us - I still want a win.
Coxford_lou Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 You have to chuckle at the fact that JWP is regarded as a set-piece specialist having never ever scored. Only if you're a fan of the opposition. Unlucky JWP!
Batman Posted 4 April, 2015 Author Posted 4 April, 2015 FFS We are playing well and getting into good positions So close
Edmonton Saint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 It may be unpopular on here, but I think JWP is playing very well so far today
Sheaf Saint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Another great stop from Howard. It's going to be one of those days isn't it.
Batman Posted 4 April, 2015 Author Posted 4 April, 2015 Another great stop from Howard. It's going to be one of those days isn't it. Haha. Typical isn't it. He has been a donkey lately too
Coxford_lou Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 It may be unpopular on here, but I think JWP is playing very well so far today Weird that it would be unpopular...but yes I agree - he's involved in everything at the moment! He and Pelle just need a bit of luck!
Gingeletiss Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 It may be unpopular on here, but I think JWP is playing very well so far today As do I, some here have a wish for him to do bad, all I see is a great player in the making.
SuperMikey Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 It may be unpopular on here, but I think JWP is playing very well so far today Agreed. He gets too much stick. Looks like he's very much playing as a No 10 today, should give him good licence to get on the ball and get things moving.
Sheaf Saint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Schneiderlin caught napping in the build up to that attempt. Should have cleared that easily.
nta786 Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 commentators saying again how 'forsters presence would make a difference'.
max_saints Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 It may be unpopular on here, but I think JWP is playing very well so far today Will back you up on this, JWP and Pelle to win this for us
Sheaf Saint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Mané 2nd half pls. Yep. Elia just not in the game enough so far. Mane would surely be a better option.
ThaiSaint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 He likes the fact that Liverpool lost :-) Thanks for that. I only speak Thai and English and didn't realise that people could use other languages here...
Plastic Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Thanks for that. I only speak Thai and English and didn't realise that people could use other languages here... Hehehe
Roger Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 We never win headers from set pieces when we are attacking.
Rasiak-9- Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Typical post-February Saints really. Its not that we don't even look like scoring, because we do. ...but we still don't actually score!
saint michael Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Morgan looks switched off and leaving a lot to do for Wanyama. Boy do we miss Steve davis. He really does make us tick
Batman Posted 4 April, 2015 Author Posted 4 April, 2015 I think Elia has been pretty poor since being here
OttawaSaint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Elia is utterly clueless, so many dangerous situations and he either runs the wrong way or falls over. Get Mane on!
Leicestersaint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 The ball is in the air too much - we need to go back to playing football on the ground.
Batman Posted 4 April, 2015 Author Posted 4 April, 2015 HT. thought we played alright. at times, very well Morgan not so good, Elia awful, Pelle OK JWP decent, Long good with vic... I would have mane on at HT no question.
St Marco Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Not a bad performance thus far. Just need to take more of our dead ball chances. Wanyama best player so far imo. Elia having a mare.
S-Clarke Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Still not quite sure what Elia does tbh. Wouldn't sign him at all.
NewYorkSaint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Spectacular play by Saints. on another day wd be 1-0 the other way. their goal really lucky. Toby, big-Vic, Morgan superb. Pelle's been good too, imo. Chances are we'll come back second half. But yes, Mane and/or Tadic needed.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 At some point in the not too distant future we need both Mane and Tadic on I'd say.
Leicestersaint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Why couldn't we do what QPR are doing at WBA? Come on Saints - we can still win this.
austsaint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Morgan looks switched off and leaving a lot to do for Wanyama. Boy do we miss Steve davis. He really does make us tick We are missing S. Davis; JWP has done some nice things, Vic terrific, Eli has to come off for Mane and Tadic and Djiricuc must be in the frame. Nothing going on down our left side, Coleman has controlled everything.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Elia has not had sufficient time in the Prem or with the team to really understand what he needs to do make a difference, but I think he is a good player that could still come good. Problem is he may not be retained before he actually clicks. Overall our problem has been a lack of composure on the ball - Wanyama excepted. Stop the hoof - keep some possession for a while - get Mane on for Elia at 65 minutes.
Matthew Le God Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 You have to chuckle at the fact that JWP is regarded as a set-piece specialist having never ever scored. He has scored from free kicks for England under 21's. Plus not all set pieces are direct shots on goal, Ward-Prowse puts in very good delivery from corners and free kicks.
Saint Charlie Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 At some point in the not too distant future we need both Mane and Tadic on I'd say. Not too sure why we have moved away from that. Best front three over the season has been Tadic, Pelle and Mane. Tadic has improved again of late.
hackedoff Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 If only we had got a decent striker in the transfer window rather than a couple of ineffective "attacking" midfielders.
St Marco Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 He has scored from set pieces for England. Plus not all set pieces are direct shots on goal, Ward-Prowse puts in very good devilry from corners and free kicks. Strange I thought I saw all four of our corners not get touched by a player (while theirs did) and a free kick (although close) went wide? Lambert would of buried that chance imo.
Ohio Saint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 It's a match that we can still win, but I'm prepared for the disappointment of defeat and 45 minutes of being slowly tortured by the poisonous kiss of hope.
eurosaint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Merington on the radio reckons that Morgan is doing really well so far in sharp contrast to what some on here are saying !! Opinions, eh
Matthew Le God Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Strange I thought I saw all four of our corners not get touched by a player (while theirs did) No goal or touch not being made at a corner doesn't by default make it a bad delievery. and a free kick (although close) went wide? Lambert would of buried that chance imo. Extremely harsh to criticise him for that, he was very close to scoring. Lambert did similar, not every Lambert free kick was a goal.
