Now we can start planning to sneak-out Vilhena & Clasie hidden in hand-luggage.

When are the first Europa League fixtures likely to be?

Third qualifying round (almost certainly 7th place): 30th July/6th August

Playoff round: 20th August/27th August

Group stage (5th/6th place): 17th September

I remember that day....the coach wouldn't stop untill we were in the ground! Thats me with the short hair and oakleys (they were fashionable once!).

Remember going there for a friendly a few years back, it was so hot that day and we were behind a glass screen.

That's very early, we certainly have a lot to play for still. Don't want to be finishing 7th, would be nice to give the early round games to Liverpool.

Sixth would be bad if Liverpool or Arsenal do not win the FA Cup.

Not Liverpool, if they finish 7th.

If Aston Villa (for example) wins the FA Cup and Liverpool finishes seventh, we make the Europa League but have to play the two rounds of qualifiers. Aston Villa and the fifth place club would qualify directly for the group phase. That is what I meant by bad.

And I was replying to this.

6th would still put us in the qualifying round if Liverpool win the Cup and finish 7th.

So arsenal to win the FA Cup and finish 6th is ideal. Then we can all go to this friendly.

Setting aside the possibility of finishing 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd, of course.
