Saint-Armstrong Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 Saints have got a few videos prepared for the next few days, as tomorrow marks five years since we beat Carlisle at Wembley. Here's the first. [video=youtube;1-WoObSLn40]
Colinjb Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 It really doesn't feel like five years. What a wonderful day that was.
SO16_Saint Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 Loved watching that. We owe it to Papa really. some crucial goals throughout. I must've wiped it from my memory how many times we were close to going out. Good banter between the lads watching it too
fanimal Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 How far down the mountain side is our ever increasing snowball??!! 50 years of watching Saints 74 - 79 was a similar period - relegation, cup win, promotion, Wembley, but 2010 - 2015 compares very favourably indeed. (the 70's had better away games though, much more fun…!!)
CylonKing Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 Excellent retrospective video, looking forward to part 2.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 Had completely forgot that Forster played for Norwich in that game!
S-Clarke Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 That MK Dons game was one of the best home games I've ever been to.
B Rabbit Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 Kelvin looked pretty solid in the Torquay game. Reassuring!
Mr Saints Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 That MK Dons game was one of the best home games I've ever been to. St Mary's was absolutely rocking that night. Great memories.
Turkish Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 St Mary's was absolutely rocking that night. Great memories. It was. The Northam looked and sounded superb, like a proper Kop end.
Jonnyboy Posted 27 March, 2015 Posted 27 March, 2015 That MK Dons game was one of the best home games I've ever been to. Whole stadium seemed to singing at one point. Quality!
Saint-Armstrong Posted 28 March, 2015 Author Posted 28 March, 2015 Dean Hammond talking to the Echo, reflecting on the JPT win: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11886216.Hammond__JPT_was_catalyst_for_Southampton_success/?ref=rss&cid=dlvr.it
JakkoUK Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 How come Fonte wasn't sat down watching the video with Jaidi, Davis & Schneiderlin?
CB Fry Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 Four years away from the commemorative videos of our eighth place finish last season. Looking forward to seeing them.
Lets B Avenue Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 How come Fonte wasn't sat down watching the video with Jaidi, Davis & Schneiderlin? Because he is away with the Portugal national squad.
Batman Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 We should sign Antonio. He has unfinished business at saints. And such a smooth goal celebration
JakkoUK Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 Because he is away with the Portugal national squad. Now I just look stupid
Batman Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 (edited) Look at who the ref was away to MK Dons....a certain Mr Moss. Horrendous ref what a side we had in league 1. Davis Fonte Lallana Chamberlain Morgan Lallana Throw in antonio, connolly, Waigo, harding Edited 28 March, 2015 by Batman
VectisSaint Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 Now I just look stupid Actually you don't, Morgan is there but is away with Les Beus.
Saintandy666 Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 Look at who the ref was away to MK Dons....a certain Mr Moss. Horrendous ref what a side we had in league 1. Davis Fonte Lallana Chamberlain Morgan Lallana Throw in antonio, connolly, Waigo, harding I know we had a slow start, and bossed towards the end (if I'm recalling correctly), but quite surprising we didn't run away with the league really given that team!
Appy Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 Because he is away with the Portugal national squad. Assumed it's because we didn't sign Fonte until January, so wasn't there for most of the run.
Saintandy666 Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 Why is Schneiderlin there then? I think you are probably reading too much into this.
Appy Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 I think you are probably reading too much into this. I edited that, now I look a prat.
Lets B Avenue Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 I edited that, now I look a prat. Pity, as I would have pointed out that Morgan doesn't play for Portugal.
krissyboy31 Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 Funny how you forget who was and wasn't involved.
davefizzy14 Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 Amazing videos. That was the start of our journey. What a day that was! Thank you Markus
BARCELONASAINT Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 hope no one ever forgets how much we owe not only to Markus for saving us but to Katherine for keeping the dream going. Fantastic memories from that day.
Saint-scooby Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 On that day I took my 3 kids up, I said to them on the way up on the M3 you will never forget this day, almost every car bus and coach was drapped in red and white. the twins were 10 and my son was 13. I had a text earlier today from one of the twins to remind me where we were 5 years ago . time flies
Saint_clark Posted 28 March, 2015 Posted 28 March, 2015 God damn it, i still get choked up at even the mere mention of Markus. Really is a tragedy he wasn't with us to see what unfolded (and is still unfolding).
