Top 4 chance now gone? Europa Thoughts?

http://www.sportoptions.com/Southampton/index.asp Good news as an option, although I'd be surprised if they're able to sort a trip to Moldova with a week's notice.

It'll be a million billion quid too. Possibly.

As I've now committed to travelling to Rotterdam on the day of the Europa League 2nd Qualifying Round 2nd Legs I'm really hoping we get an unseeded "straight to 3rd Q Round" team on 17th.

That is assuming they're played on a Thursday, they used to have qualifying games on a Wednesday instead with only the Group Stages on Thursdays, but I noticed Hull's 4 matches in qualification last season were all Thursday.

It's an awkward balancing act. Firstly the risk of waiting to see Saints in a later round of the competition... (I didn't go to Steaua Bucharest...) I'm semi-retired with a small pension - if I do sod all I can survive without working, if I want to do a few things I have to work. This at least gives me some flexibility, so a low cost flight to some Ryanair airport a few days before a game and a cheap hotel may well end up cheaper than an in-and-out job by charter. Close enough and it's a channel ferry, car and sleeping bag with the additional advantage of some cheap bottles of wine/beer..

Obviously you'll keep us informed on here The9. after you've booked your cheap flight/ferry!;) In the meantime, to boost my income for such jaunts does anyone need any English as a Foreign Language/Italian teaching or any IT>Eng translation?:)

I'm flying to Munich and flying to Amsterdam, getting trains to Salzburg and Rotterdam, and staying a couple of nights in Salzburg/Munich and Amsterdam respectively.

The former is to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary because I'm such a hopeless romantic. :D

And yeah, my balancing act is with annual leave, got all the Thurs/Fri qualifier and group dates currently booked, which as half of those will be home games, will leave me with 10 days back to cover the remaining rounds of the competition.

However, I also have to factor Christmas and birthdays into my 28ish days, plus 4 days for the two preseason trips, and the odd day here and there for other stuff already booked, so if we get to the Final (in Base, let's not forget) it could be the leave not the travel or tickets which are the problem...

Sport Ops are good for those who either want the "easy" option or who are short of annual leave, mate of mine doing it for Slovenia v England game on Sunday, £349 for day trip from Luton airport which gives you an idea of the cost, but plus side for him is under an hour drive from Luton and flight back before midnight so makes the game do able.

I remember for Bucharest there was a 2 night trip from Bournemouth but don't think any day trips were offered perhaps due to it being a later kick off.

I'd expect the travel club to run coaches for any games in northern France / Holland / Belgium or North west Germany.

I can't see many travelling to Feyenoord in the friendly considering we'll have a Europa game the following week. We took about 500 in 2001 , good stadium well worth a visit.
