The Recall Boruc Thread

You are wrong... very wrong. There is a large gulf in quality.

Davis wouldn't be first choice keeper for any current Premier League side, he is Championship level in quality. A great servant to the club and was outstanding during our rise to the Premier League, but he is out of his depth at this level.

That's your opinion, not a fact.

No.

Remind us what a "mess we're in" again won't you, you grizzling little ponce.

I didn't say otherwise, but I do find it hard to believe someone can think the quality difference between Davis and Forster is close and have to wonder what they are watching.

Which Premier League teams do you think would want Davis as their first choice keeper?

For what it's worth I agree with you.... None, most likely. In fact, I'd go as far to say almost the entire league has better options as first, second and third choice when it comes to goalkeepers. For example, I'd much rather have Schmechel and Hamer, Fabianski and Tremmel or Adrian and Jaaskelainen then our two or three. We did have one of the best in the division at one point.... Shame we had to p1ss him off.

All down to KD now, good luck Kelvin.

Not sure Manone is any good.

its not Kelvin we need to worry about, its who is sitting on the bench if he's unavailable, Kelvin has experience on his side plus the best Saints team for years ahead of him , but he also has had injuries this season if he gets a knock then its Gazza or Cropper and that inexperience will be a real test for the players ahead of the keeper in decision making and trusting a rookie

Boruc cannot be recalled. The only way the Club can play it is to play Davis and hope he plays well.

The Club have known all season that our backup to Forster is lacking so presumably they feel Davis is an adequate PL keeper.

Hopefully he does a good job as he is a cracking guy and a Saints stalwart...but he has not done well in the PL over a few years.

Its not the shot stopping that lets him down...

I'm worried about Davis. Will be interesting to see how the club play this.

Hardest position to recruit for is 2nd choice keeper, but the Koemans and Watson should know what they're doing in this regard.

How can they play it? We have two fit keepers so I doubt we are allowed an emergency loan. Kelvin will be number one for the rest of the season. Come the summer I'm sure they will work on getting another keeper but till then maybe everyone should just back Kelvin.

It was thought FF was riding on the back of the success of the defence 3 weeks ago.

Doesn't matter who's in goal then surely? This will prove how much we miss forster and how much the defence plus Vic and Morgan help with clean sheets.

Yeah, guess you're right, we are stuck with Davis. He gets great support, so no problem there.

Rather a loyal servant who would bleed for us then a mercenary.

We are in no danger, worst case scenario is we miss out on Europa League football. Should that be the case it will not be solely due to a goalkeeper.

Welcome back into the fold Kelvin Davis.

After your embarrassment in the summer you certainly have a nerve! I'd still be in hiding.

embarrassment? It's an internet forum. Literally the only people on here who get their knickers in a twist over other people having differing opinions are those who constantly snipe on the sidelines.

No biggie if what I said in the summer didn't happen... I'm fact, I'm delighted it didn't. No biggie if I don't think Forster isn't a very good goalkeeper, I'm not alone in that school of thought either. But instead of accepting someone's opinion, there are those on here who would rather rile, mock and snipe from behind their computers.

Good luck to them I say. Seriously, the people on here sometimes...

Absolutely CL. There is far too much keyboard warrior cyber hiding going on.

I would much rather say na na na na na to your face.

Thank you, Whitey. I'm a bit bemused that people just can't seem to let go of certain things about posters and for want of a better term, incessantly bully them on here. Being of, er, less sensitive stock it doesn't bother me as much as it does amuse me.... Though it's very said that people find the need to do it... A gap in their real lives perhaps?

I'm desperately delighted what I said didn't to go any further in the summer and pleasantly astonished by the way the club have performed. Despite this, I shouldn't have to beg for the rights to have an opinion on the team, the club, it's fans and it's players from anyone, neither should someone's opinion be denounced because of one or two posts on an internet forum.

Anyway... Back to the topic, perhaps? I'm game to debate...
