St Chalet Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 1) Can we? 2) Should we? 3) Will we? For me 1 = Don't know 2 = Yes 3 = Doubtful
Saints foreva Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 We have to recall him, if we can that is. Davis was good today but Boruc is a much better goalkeeper than Kelvin.

Crab Lungs Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 4) Think he'll tell us to fark off ? Who could blame him, tbf. Hope we can though...
syd_barrett_saint Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 4) Think he'll tell us to fark off ? 5. He'll send Irene to tell us to **** off.
Bearsy Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 I think it will be more drama+excitement to stick with Davis.
syd_barrett_saint Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 have no faith in kelvin. I'm not his biggest fan these days, but that's a bit harsh after today's performance! ;-)
Avenue Saint Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Recall him. Madness not yo at this business stage of season
Bearsy Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Is it definite that Fourstar won't be like, straight back? Genuine question no trolls pls
Saint Charlie Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Kelvin is a good shot stopper but otherwise is worrying...but we have known all season that if Forster got injured we would be stuck. If its really bad we may need another keeper in the summer for next season.
SNSUN Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 I think we should play Gazzaniga. If we give him experience now, he might be a half decent keeper when he's 35. :-) As good as Boruc is, I'm not sure he'd want to return. He's probably quite enjoying himself at Bompey. I doubt we can recall him anyway. Let's hope the Fraser injury is minor and he can be back in a few weeks at worst.

lloydie Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 So does anyone know if we have the ability to recall him??
Miltonaggro Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 If FF is out for several weeks and it's doable Boruc has to return for the run in. The January window debacle with so many Saints fans pointing out the obvious need for striking and goalkeeping cover was always going to lead to this drama! Self abuse...
Toomer Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 We can't recall AB from his loan but that display from KD would have given him a great deal of confidence and you could see how much it ment to the players by the way they went up to him at the end of the game.

Saves yes but still showed the areas that will cost us at some point. No point hiding from that. Distribution was poor and nearly got tackled a couple of times because he was too slow. He has never been a successful PL keeper and isnt likely to have improved in a year without playing. Great saves today though! But big blow to lose Forster.
St.Jeweller Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Gazzanigas looked pretty solid in the U21 games I've seen on the you tube channel, he's also gained a couple of seasons experience since his antics when we first came back to the prem. So why not stick with the old head of Kelv and reward his loyalty and keep Gazzaniga as his reserve (just keep someone on the near post at all times on the corners.)
Mattio Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Pretty sure he can't be so no, non, nein Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cellone Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 I can imagine a Cherries thread panicking about the possibility.
doddisalegend Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Solent said we can't recall him. Kelvin played well today so no panic from me.

CB Fry Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 He won't be coming back and that's absolutely fine by me. Played his last game for us I'd hope.
Saint_Tony Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Kelvin actually played really well, we'd all be praising Forster for making those saves. Bit dodgy when the ball is passed back to him, we need to try and cut that out. We certainly need a half decent back up keeper for next season though, there will be a lot of games with the europa league as well
Saint IQ Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 no no no Thread end. Agree, Super Kelvin all the way!
James Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 No recall so pointless thread And there we have it from the man himself (Hi Artur). Happy to stick with Kelvin - shame about FF but I'm confident Kelv won't let us down.
SNSUN Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Pantillimon if Sunderland go down? Some decent keepers in our league. Begovic, Krul, Guzan. But we'd probably end up plucking one from the foreign leagues.
Crab Lungs Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 He won't be coming back and that's absolutely fine by me. Played his last game for us I'd hope. Proper little cry baby about Boruc aren't you?

lifeintheslowlane Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 1) No 2) No 3) No Would be madness to recall someone who has made it clear he has no wish to play for us.

Nolan Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 new goalkeeping coaching regime since the beginning of the season, and Davis looked exceptional today, (especially seeing it was his first competitive minutes in a LONG time) there didn't look like any need to panic.
CB Fry Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Proper little cry baby about Boruc aren't you? No. Remind us what a "mess we're in" again won't you, you grizzling little ponce.

He's always been an excellent reaction stopper but wait till the near post shots start sneaking in
Mr X Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Cant see that Kelvin is a huge downgrade on Forster tbh, forster is better but not by as much as you'd think
doddisalegend Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 He's always been an excellent reaction stopper but wait till the near post shots start sneaking in In fairness the current saints defence are far better than anything Kelvin has played behind before. Our current outfield defence has the lowest shots against of any defence in the PL which should give Kelvin some protection.
SNSUN Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Begovic or Guzan wouldn't sign to sit on the bench. Delends how long Forster is out for. If it's long term, we're going to need to look for a keeper good enough as first choice. My guess would be an ageing keeper that is still good enough but wouldn't possess a long contract.
Matthew Le God Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Cant see that Kelvin is a huge downgrade on Forster tbh, forster is better but not by as much as you'd think You are wrong... very wrong. There is a large gulf in quality. Davis wouldn't be first choice keeper for any current Premier League side, he is Championship level in quality. A great servant to the club and was outstanding during our rise to the Premier League, but he is out of his depth at this level.

We will see now as we don't have any other options, he is certainly leagues ahead of gazzaniga even at his age

How many PL clubs have back up keepers who would be first choice at another PL club? couple of the big boys I'd guess. Back up keepers are by default not as good as the 1st choice but Kelvin is still a decent keeper at least he isn't scared to come off his line like Forster seems to be.
