OldNick Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 Mane against Chelsea looked as though we have indeed got hold of a gem. in time he will develop into a top PL player. Learning how to play in the PL takes time but his exciting runs and play gets you off your seat.IMO he should have been MOtm
Dig Dig Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 Agree, he was excellent. Has a special ability to go past players who can only really stop him by fouling him. We should enjoy him playing here whilst we can.
Bucks Saint Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 Totally agree. Has really improved over the last few months and still more to come I am sure, but is our most dangerous player for the opponents to worry about
angelman Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 The one aspect of his game that I am not the biggest fan of, is that he can be a little theatrical at times when falling over.
stockbridge_saint Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 first half was absolutely superb, slightly lost it in the second. Some of his decision making is still a bit poor (offside, wayward shooting, not making the pass early enough) He can beat his man almost every time though which is just brilliant
niceandfriendly Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 His little 'drop of the shoulder then go past a player' move is quality. Always seems to up his game against the big boys.
Golden Balls Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 Was my motm. Always positive and always looked like he'd make something happen. How many Chelsea players did he get booked?
sydneysaint17 Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 I dont think Saints would consider selling him for anything under £20m and despite his obvious potential, he certainly hasn't done enough yet to warrant a fee near that yet. Very excited to see how he progresses next season following a full pre-season/years experience in the PL.
JRM Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 i agree was very impressed with him yesterday, Chelsea seemed to back off him afraid of his pace and he enjoyed that. Would like to see Mane play with this freedom more as it does create chances, he needs to work on his shooting to convert them. Pleased to see him prove some of the doubters wrong from earlier in the season.
trousers Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 He got my MotM vote. If he doesn't get past the defender you can be pretty certain he'll win a free kick. A great asset.
SuperSAINT Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 He's given just what we I hoped he would after we signed him - That X-factor to turn a game, beat his man and grab some vital goals for us. Relative bargain at £10m IMO.
Ewell Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 He had a great game yesterday and has been a very good purchase for us and hopefully will get better and better. I am a fan but one thing I have noticed about him is that in the same move he can look like the best player I have ever soon but also the worst. I have never seen a player who hits such highs and lows within the same passage off play. He is undependable, he doesn't know what he is going to do, his team mates have little idea so what chance has the oppositions defence got? This lad could elevate himself to cult hero status at Saints.

Turkish Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 Still the worst player since Ali Dia, right?
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 Big fan of the bloke. Reminds me a bit of JRod in that he never seems to have the ball 100% under control, but is very effective. Definitely better used through the middle. He had a bit of a wobble, after a bright start, but think reactions were harsh on here.
Killers Knee Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 We need a dead ball maestro to feed off the free kicks he wins around the box, and no JWP is not that player.
Whitey Grandad Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 "Conference standard" according to some just a couple of months ago. Still the worst player since Ali Dia, right? So what is the point of references like these? At the time they were written they were a fair description but I think most people (including me) were prepared to gve him a few games to see how he settled in. Relative bargain at £10m IMO. Huge bargain at £10m. If he has another season like this next season he will be worth £25million to £30million. He is potentially top class. We will do well to keep him more than a couple of years.

He is potentially top class. We will do well to keep him more than a couple of years. There is definitely a worry that a "big" club will recognise the talent of Sadio and lure him away. I would say he has doubled his value already. He really is a striker/attacking mid-fielder and winger rolled into one. Quite apart from his attacking runs on Sunday, some of his one touch passing and distribution was superb.
Redslo Posted 16 March, 2015 Share Posted 16 March, 2015 So what is the point of references like these? At the time they were written they were a fair description but I think most people (including me) were prepared to gve him a few games to see how he settled in. But they were not a fair description at the time. "Not good enough" might have been a fair description but not a comparison to Ali Dia or "conference standard."
