Mane against Chelsea looked as though we have indeed got hold of a gem. in time he will develop into a top PL player. Learning how to play in the PL takes time but his exciting runs and play gets you off your seat.IMO he should have been MOtm

I dont think Saints would consider selling him for anything under £20m and despite his obvious potential, he certainly hasn't done enough yet to warrant a fee near that yet. Very excited to see how he progresses next season following a full pre-season/years experience in the PL.

i agree was very impressed with him yesterday, Chelsea seemed to back off him afraid of his pace and he enjoyed that. Would like to see Mane play with this freedom more as it does create chances, he needs to work on his shooting to convert them.

Pleased to see him prove some of the doubters wrong from earlier in the season.

He had a great game yesterday and has been a very good purchase for us and hopefully will get better and better.

I am a fan but one thing I have noticed about him is that in the same move he can look like the best player I have ever soon but also the worst. I have never seen a player who hits such highs and lows within the same passage off play. He is undependable, he doesn't know what he is going to do, his team mates have little idea so what chance has the oppositions defence got?

This lad could elevate himself to cult hero status at Saints.

"Conference standard" according to some just a couple of months ago.

Still the worst player since Ali Dia, right?

So what is the point of references like these? At the time they were written they were a fair description but I think most people (including me) were prepared to gve him a few games to see how he settled in.

He's given just what we I hoped he would after we signed him - That X-factor to turn a game, beat his man and grab some vital goals for us.

Relative bargain at £10m IMO.

Huge bargain at £10m. If he has another season like this next season he will be worth £25million to £30million. He is potentially top class. We will do well to keep him more than a couple of years.

There is definitely a worry that a "big" club will recognise the talent of Sadio and lure him away. I would say he has doubled his value already. He really is a striker/attacking mid-fielder and winger rolled into one. Quite apart from his attacking runs on Sunday, some of his one touch passing and distribution was superb.

But they were not a fair description at the time. "Not good enough" might have been a fair description but not a comparison to Ali Dia or "conference standard."
