Dammit! Just downloaded Kodi too!

Any other good add-ons to install?

Can you chromecast Kodi to tv?

Try a free trial of dns server for a month and watch via NBC sports live addon today in good quality. Do not think you can chromecast.

Another alternative is to put the sportsdevil addon on and the game will be on there somewhere.

You can Chromecast, just takes a little fiddling...

Open a Chrome tab, click you Chromecast tool... On the right hand side you'll see a small drop down arrow, click it..

Here you have an option to cast screen/window (rather than just a tab), click it...

You now got you entire PC/laptop screen on Chromecast, fill your screen with Kodi and it's now on your tele...

Always a solution :)

Thanks...tried the nbc sports add odd without dns server and it doesn't work, presumably that's right and it will work with the dns.

Good news 're the chromecast, will give it a go.

Guaranteed that is one of the ways I use, if you find kodi is the way to go would recommend setting up via a Raspberry Pi, best £50.00 I ever spent.

Unfortunately, that scuppers one of the major plus points of Chromecast, namely that you can continue to use your tablet while casting.

However, that sort of behaviour is to be frowned upon when watching movies anyway :)

Hi all, thank you for all of the descriptions above, this looks very promising.

I hope someone can help with the stumbling block I have reached very early. Having installed Kodi on my Macbook I am looking to add the Metal Kettle Repository add-on. The downloaded file does not appear to be a .zip file and contains addon.xml, changelog.txt, fan art.jpg and thumbs.db. This means that when adding the add-on in Kodi, it is not selecting a .zip file and therefore not downloading.

I look forward to any helpful input.

Thanks

Fair point, to be fair my Chromecast has becoming pretty much redundant since investing in a Raspberry Pi anyway, used purely now as about 4th choice back up... As others have said, can't recommend the Pi highly enough...

I'm pleased to hear of that solution regardless.

But yeah, the Pi 2 setup has gone down a treat in the living room. I was expecting it to take a while to bed in; I bought ms pap a Chromecast for Christmas. She was entirely unimpressed at the time, but uses it frequently now.

I just love using XBMC (as it used to be called) again. Had a chipped XBox back in the day. Until the arrival of HD, that was the best media player I had. Played anything. It's really come into its own in the really fast internet age.

SmartDNS two week trial works well with it. Unotelly made the NBC add-on buffer a lot in recent weeks but it's been running smoothly since I switched to SmartDNS.

Thanks for the info am going to change to them as I was suffering buffering myself on NBC

I've been an Overplay subscriber for a couple of years now, the full VPN package. Used with a suitably hacked router it will re-route all your traffic, which is useful for bypassing ISP blocks or geo-locating. The SmartDNS comes as a free bonus, and works well on individual devices when connected to other networks.

Go to http://www.xbmcandkodi.com and if you search you can find a video showing you exactly what to do.

Hope that helps

Are there any good apps on Kodi to go back and re-watch games?

There's one called Football Replays on the Xunity repo. I don't know if you need an Offside Streams account to watch, as I got it with that. But it's a separate addon.

  • 2 weeks later...
This working for today? Just opened up Kodi, and cannot get the Liverpool Arsenal game on there....has it been taken down ?

Me neither.

Using a stream on sportsdevil, not great.

It's all us sports on there at the mo?

Edit: see what you mean. Not working at all now. Was working an hour ago....

Every time with the seo Michael master zip for the nbc sports extra app on kodi it played between 11 & 17 seconds then it stops the stream. Anyone else get this?

Strangely enough my laptop and Raspberry Pi worked perfect with the NBC fix above. After the game i began setting up a 2nd PI in my boys room and got this problem after installing NBC and adding the fix, anyone solved it yet?

I got the metalkettle addon to work in xbmc Gotham by adding the repo from the following link:

http://kodi.metalkettle.co/

repository.metalkettle-1.4.3.zip

Then followed instructions as per post #1

I can confirm TSN channels are working in HQ (720p) and just finished watching the Masters coverage.

(Just in case anyone was still running Gotham and was happy not to upgrade to kodi just yet)
