mcjwills Posted 18 March, 2015 Author Posted 18 March, 2015 Thanks ..... Using Kodi, is there a way that these streams be downloaded to hard drive to watch later? You can download a PVR software I believe if you have a hard drive to download the programs too.
Tractor_Saint Posted 19 March, 2015 Posted 19 March, 2015 Unfortunately, for me at least, the zip add on is zero bytes and won't install in Kodi ;(
Plumstead_Saint Posted 19 March, 2015 Posted 19 March, 2015 Thanks mjcwills Kodi looks very interesting...and works fine on a mac! How do you find channel listings?

Lorne Malvo Posted 20 March, 2015 Posted 20 March, 2015 Reading threads like this I'm glad I can watch every game live on normal TV
mcjwills Posted 20 March, 2015 Author Posted 20 March, 2015 Doh! Not showing Burnley game Lucky I am off to the game instead.

SO16_Saint Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Doh! Not showing Burnley game Dammit! Just downloaded Kodi too! Any other good add-ons to install? Can you chromecast Kodi to tv?
Soggy Bottom Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 add the nbc sport extra add-on (google the source) that will have the game on and sign up for a 14 day trial with smart dns just create a gmail account
mcjwills Posted 21 March, 2015 Author Posted 21 March, 2015 (edited) Dammit! Just downloaded Kodi too! Any other good add-ons to install? Can you chromecast Kodi to tv? Try a free trial of dns server for a month and watch via NBC sports live addon today in good quality. Do not think you can chromecast. Another alternative is to put the sportsdevil addon on and the game will be on there somewhere. Edited 21 March, 2015 by mcjwills
ChudSaint Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 You can Chromecast, just takes a little fiddling... Open a Chrome tab, click you Chromecast tool... On the right hand side you'll see a small drop down arrow, click it.. Here you have an option to cast screen/window (rather than just a tab), click it... You now got you entire PC/laptop screen on Chromecast, fill your screen with Kodi and it's now on your tele... Always a solution

Thanks...tried the nbc sports add odd without dns server and it doesn't work, presumably that's right and it will work with the dns. Good news 're the chromecast, will give it a go.

Always a solution Unfortunately, that scuppers one of the major plus points of Chromecast, namely that you can continue to use your tablet while casting. However, that sort of behaviour is to be frowned upon when watching movies anyway
Nessy7 Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Hi all, thank you for all of the descriptions above, this looks very promising. I hope someone can help with the stumbling block I have reached very early. Having installed Kodi on my Macbook I am looking to add the Metal Kettle Repository add-on. The downloaded file does not appear to be a .zip file and contains addon.xml, changelog.txt, fan art.jpg and thumbs.db. This means that when adding the add-on in Kodi, it is not selecting a .zip file and therefore not downloading. I look forward to any helpful input. Thanks

However, that sort of behaviour is to be frowned upon when watching movies anyway [/ Fair point, to be fair my Chromecast has becoming pretty much redundant since investing in a Raspberry Pi anyway, used purely now as about 4th choice back up... As others have said, can't recommend the Pi highly enough...
pap Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 I'm pleased to hear of that solution regardless. But yeah, the Pi 2 setup has gone down a treat in the living room. I was expecting it to take a while to bed in; I bought ms pap a Chromecast for Christmas. She was entirely unimpressed at the time, but uses it frequently now. I just love using XBMC (as it used to be called) again. Had a chipped XBox back in the day. Until the arrival of HD, that was the best media player I had. Played anything. It's really come into its own in the really fast internet age.
SO16_Saint Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 What DNS server are people using in conjunction with kodi
Saints foreva Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 What DNS server are people using in conjunction with kodi SmartDNS two week trial works well with it. Unotelly made the NBC add-on buffer a lot in recent weeks but it's been running smoothly since I switched to SmartDNS.
mcjwills Posted 21 March, 2015 Author Posted 21 March, 2015 If anyone is having issues with NBC if you go to http://www.xbmcandkodi.com they have a fix for the problem. Check that NBC works before match time on the golf channel.
TUS Posted 21 March, 2015 Posted 21 March, 2015 Match is apparently on Sportsnet One and NBC Extra Time 2.

Thanks for the info am going to change to them as I was suffering buffering myself on NBC
mcjwills Posted 22 March, 2015 Author Posted 22 March, 2015 If you use a smartDNS and the repair for NBC found at http://www.xbmcandkodi.com/downloads/ you can watch yesterdays game
hutch Posted 22 March, 2015 Posted 22 March, 2015 I've been an Overplay subscriber for a couple of years now, the full VPN package. Used with a suitably hacked router it will re-route all your traffic, which is useful for bypassing ISP blocks or geo-locating. The SmartDNS comes as a free bonus, and works well on individual devices when connected to other networks.

ART Posted 23 March, 2015 Posted 23 March, 2015 Just realised that http://www.myiplayer.com/home.php stream excellent quality streams for many Sports channels and uses a built in IP Proxy that allows you to watch without a VPN.
TUS Posted 23 March, 2015 Posted 23 March, 2015 Are there any good apps on Kodi to go back and re-watch games? There's one called Football Replays on the Xunity repo. I don't know if you need an Offside Streams account to watch, as I got it with that. But it's a separate addon.
Saint Garrett Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 This working for today? Just opened up Kodi, and cannot get the Liverpool Arsenal game on there....has it been taken down ?
SO16_Saint Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 (edited) This working for today? Just opened up Kodi, and cannot get the Liverpool Arsenal game on there....has it been taken down ? Me neither. Saints foreva Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Can't find anything https://github.com/eracknaphobia/plugin.video.nbcsnliveextra/archive/master.zip
petts Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Sorry, I meant Google for it and download it, then go into kodi and install it via settings>add ons>install from zip. This is the one I used : https://seo-michael.co.uk/how-to-install-nbc-sports-extra-live-for-xbmc/
dwheeler52 Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Every time with the seo Michael master zip for the nbc sports extra app on kodi it played between 11 & 17 seconds then it stops the stream. Anyone else get this?

Anyone else get this? Strangely enough my laptop and Raspberry Pi worked perfect with the NBC fix above. After the game i began setting up a 2nd PI in my boys room and got this problem after installing NBC and adding the fix, anyone solved it yet?
dwheeler52 Posted 4 April, 2015 Posted 4 April, 2015 Sorry hat do you mean mcjwills? Is there another link that works
mcjwills Posted 5 April, 2015 Author Posted 5 April, 2015 Look at post 90 and use that link to find the zip file for the fix.
krissyboy31 Posted 6 April, 2015 Posted 6 April, 2015 I must be doing something wrong! It worked originally, I've downloaded the zip file and it says NBC Enabled but fails to open.
Webby Posted 9 April, 2015 Posted 9 April, 2015 Anyone know if I can watch The Masters on Kodi/XBMC and if so how? Cheers
St. Neil Posted 9 April, 2015 Posted 9 April, 2015 Anyone know if I can watch The Masters on Kodi/XBMC and if so how? Cheers Yes im watching it on that aaa stream that is mentioned in the first post, its under Live Streams - HD Sports - TSN 1 Looks good so far and I think the Hull game is on TSN 3 at the weekend.
jasonb Posted 9 April, 2015 Posted 9 April, 2015 I got the metalkettle addon to work in xbmc Gotham by adding the repo from the following link: http://kodi.metalkettle.co/ repository.metalkettle-1.4.3.zip Then followed instructions as per post #1 I can confirm TSN channels are working in HQ (720p) and just finished watching the Masters coverage. (Just in case anyone was still running Gotham and was happy not to upgrade to kodi just yet)
