ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 January, 2009 Share Posted 1 January, 2009 So if Lowe and JP go tomorrow, as so many fans seem to want. What happens to the club? ...we are ****ed surely? I don't understand this want of the fans to churn through boardrooms and managers...has this ever worked for us in the past?! Aint working now either is it.... ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 January, 2009 Share Posted 1 January, 2009 (edited) I'd rather have a strategy that complete chaos and no leader I have faith in the team And what strategy is that then? All i can see is a failure leading to relegation.... What about you? Edited 1 January, 2009 by ALWAYS_SFC
eelpie Posted 2 January, 2009 Share Posted 2 January, 2009 My personal opinion is that the survival strategy is the only game in town at the moment and that getting rid of Lowe/JP now (at this stage in a crucial season) would hinder rather than help that. . Hardly. Lowe's departure would create such massive euphoria and joy! Even Poortvliet would be able to do what he wants, like field two upfront and change tactics without having to ask Lowe first. The kids would get a new lease of life and play their natural game without him telling them what to do. What a relief. We would probably win a few at home too, knowing the prince of darkness was no longer casting his pervading aura of death over St Mary's.

Kingsbridge Saint Posted 2 January, 2009 Share Posted 2 January, 2009 Go for Administration Rupert. We're going down anyway and after a period of the club being run by professionals we might just rise from the ashes of League 1 or 2. Otherwise we are being dragged down by you and the lead weight of the stadium loan and we'll end up in League 2 anyway trying to swim to the surface while still anchored by the loan. Happy New Year. Lunatic Fridge Posted 2 January, 2009 Share Posted 2 January, 2009 But if they did go today/tomorrow how will it get better? You are kidding? Optimism.... just a small amount but enough I'd hope to unite us again behind the team... that small word that hasnt been seen at the club since... ooooo... the last time Lowe left. broncoboy Posted 2 January, 2009 Share Posted 2 January, 2009 Rupert old chap. Please take this revolver and step out onto the verandah You must know in your heart that its ****ed. You didnt mean it to go wrong but it has. The majority of fans hate you and to be honest the paying public are ususally right. You have lost the faith of your customers and it has to be said you have sacked managers fo losing the dressing room in the past. Lets consider the most likely outcome. Attendances will fall due to the economy alone never mind the shocking number of lost matches at home. Therefore our debt will increase The value of players to sell will decline during and after this window. Even if we survive this season we still need to get through next season before we have our costliest players off the books. To bridge the gap between then and now you will have to find some money to inject to keep the banks off our backs. You prefer to take money out of the club rather than putting it in so thats a no -go and MW has no money left. Next season ST sales will fall through the floor and the banks will **** themselves when they see the numbers. You have a massive cash problem and there seems no way to square that circle. Better you take the walk than face being the man who took the club down two divisions and into administration . They wont be putting your picture up in the boardroom when you are gone

um pahars Posted 2 January, 2009 Share Posted 2 January, 2009 Like the flood of fans that came rushing back last time he was ousted. I remember it well...... Didn't season tickets go up from something like 7,500 when he left in July to 14,000 by August???? That was something over and above the normal renewal pattern. It certainly didn't entice back those Premiership fans who walked away, but the last change of board appeared to help retain those fans who looked like they were not renewing that summer (particularly as many season ticket holders in that first season down renewed when we still had a shout of being in the top flight). InvictaSaint Posted 2 January, 2009 Share Posted 2 January, 2009 Keep up the good work. You could not make it up; second bottom of a crap league, one win at home all season with a manager unable to hold his own, loan players deserting the sinking ship and still there are people who ask Rupert to keep up the good work. Excellent. By extension, I assume you will be content to see "the good work" see us swiftly into League 1 then?

saint1977 Posted 3 January, 2009 Share Posted 3 January, 2009 Rupert - listen to people, even Mrs Lowe doesn't think you can get out of this one. Get Andrew Cowen to be Chair for the transition period and focus on the mess at WH Ireland. Andrew Cowen and the board are then free to replace JP with a proper manager who understands CCC/League 1. You are clearly under huge pressure and you cracked badly at the AGM - your show of "strength" backfired. MLT has spoken out against all of the major shareholders today but particularly yourself and even Jeff Stelling, a long-term ally of yours in better times, did as well. Guy Askham isn't going to live forever and you don't owe Wilde anything and Mike is taking you for a ride. For 6% of a bankrupt club that needs to reinvent itself totally or die in 2009, is it all worth it?

As the old saying goes: Relegate us once, by getting rid of a perfectly good manager and replacing him with an incompetent amateur yes-man (Sturrock/Wigley) ..... shame on you. Relegate us twice, by getting rid of a perfectly good manager and replacing him with an incompetent amateur yes-man (Pearson/Poortvliet) ..... fück you.
