bertie Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Can someone recommend some good away pubs for West Brom please? Any near The Hawthorns train station or ground?
saintoaks Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 The Vine is a good pub, nice Indian food, good atmosphere.
100%Red&White Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 The Royal Oak was rammed with Saints fans on that snowy night back in.........................wow, was that really ten years ago?!
Pat from Poole Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 The Vine is a good pub, nice Indian food, good atmosphere. Yup, agreed. Best pub I've been to up there.
Griffo Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Better off drinking in Birmingham and getting the train to Hawthorns.
Ziggy Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Better off drinking in Birmingham and getting the train to Hawthorns. Yes do this. Some great pubs by Snow Hill or Moor Street stations and only a few minutes train journey to the Hawthorns.
The Cat Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 I'm going to the Vine due to driving up to this one with the nipper. Not sure he's quite the age to get the train and go out on the lash yet.
LVSaint Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 The Vine was fine, but packed inside. Convenient though for close by parking and then quick walk to the ground alongside the light railway line.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 The Royal Oak was rammed with Saints fans on that snowy night back in.........................wow, was that really ten years ago?! That was the night they locked us in the pub and told us that we couldn't go outside because there were thousands of Baggies fans looking to have it with us. A few of us found a way up on to the roof at the back of the pub and could see the road outside where there were no Baggies looking for trouble. We came to the conclusion that they just wanted to keep us in the pub buying beer. Great night ruined by Prutton blazing the ball over the bar from 6 yards out.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Yes do this. Some great pubs by Snow Hill or Moor Street stations and only a few minutes train journey to the Hawthorns. I'm heading for the jewellery quarter , decent real ale pubs .
Griffo Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 I'm heading for the jewellery quarter , decent real ale pubs . That's our plan. Went there for West Brom last season too.
simo Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 I was hammered in a banana man costume last time I went , the pubs are a bit hazy
sotonjoe Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Don't go the the vine. It's **** but they just pay away fans to promote it on the Internet. Avoid like the plague.
