PhilippineSaint Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 This Would explain why the Mrs get's angry after saying "do I look good in this" and she is wearing a celtic or QPR dress Its also changed colour from Gold and white to Blue and Brown ?
pap Posted 27 February, 2015 Author Posted 27 February, 2015 White and gold. But then my eyesight is shot. Yeah, the missus was insisting the same this morning. Juvenile Unit #2 and I weren't having any of it
Wurzel Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 White and gold. So what's the explanation then? Saw same pic on fb this morning with dress described as black & blue. had no idea what is was on about.
sadoldgit Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Surely the question should have been "does my bum look big in this?"
PhilippineSaint Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Surely the question should have been "does my bum look big in this?" I would never fit into her dresses SOG

Window Cleaner Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Electric Blue and Grey Anthracite. Anyway they're all the same colour on the floor.
sadoldgit Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 I can see how people can make blue and brown but not blue and black?
Window Cleaner Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 I can see how people can make blue and brown but not blue and black? Can't see how anyone can see the grey as brown myself.
Wurzel Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Here's someone having a crack. http://www.buzzfeed.com/virginiahughes/why-are-people-seeing-different-colors-in-that-damn-dress Cheers, still none the wiser then Weirdly I just accidentally scrolled upwards on this page, the bottom of a blue and black dress appeared which was white and gold again once I stopped scrolling and looked at complete image
Big Bad Bob Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 I've juts asked 5 people here in the orifice and they've all said it's Blue and Black, so do I BTW
hypochondriac Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 It looked brown and blue to me but now I can see white and gold! What is going on?
Window Cleaner Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Anyhow, fecker is blue and dark grey and available from Verdict (£50 if you're interested that is lads), nice piece of publicity on their part.
sadoldgit Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Do you think some footballers we have signed in the past have trouble in recognising red and whites stripes???
sadoldgit Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 I would never fit into her dresses SOG Buy her flowers and chocolates and you might
Wes Tender Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Agreed. The blue has a hint of mauve about it
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Discussion over, our gracious leader has spoken. Close thread now pls.
benjii Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Well, it seems that the rancid fecal outpourings of soshal meja have, for once, given passage to an embedded sweetcorn of philosophical interest. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverted_spectrum The fact is, you can quite easily agree with someone that it is "blue and brown" but you might perceive it in exactly the same way as someone who says it is "purple and grey". For a tangential exploration of the problems with ostensive definition, see, W.V. Quine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indeterminacy_of_translation

Window Cleaner Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Agreed. The blue has a hint of mauve about it Pantone...isn't that that horrible dry sort of Italian cake ?
Whitey Grandad Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 You can't judge colours from a photo on a computer screen. I used to be involved in TV research, colour studio sampling standards to be precise. As far as TVs go there is no such colour as brown.

Agree... but... how/why are people seeing white/gold or blue/black... they're not even close
Window Cleaner Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Agree... but... how/why are people seeing white/gold or blue/black... they're not even close Oh I could see that there are some with strange vision that could see it as any colour you like but where the brown came from beats me, monks dress in brown...women don't.
Bearsy Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Can't believe it's got this far without anyone pointing out how flat-chested this bird is
Whitey Grandad Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Agree... but... how/why are people seeing white/gold or blue/black... they're not even close It all depends on the colour settings of the monitor they're using. It's a common problem for anyone using Photoshop. We have no end of problems in our business with people specifying Pantone (printing only) for a paint colour, usually a RAL code. I've even had one customer who specified a RAL code which was a bright orange but then refused the complete sign until it had been repainted in the colour he thought he was getting.

But I showed it to someone on my phone and they said it was Gold and White and someone else said Blue and Black, same time, same picture, same lighting conditions. Explain that!
Whitey Grandad Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 But I showed it to someone on my phone and they said it was Gold and White and someone else said Blue and Black, same time, same picture, same lighting conditions. Explain that! Human perception is a strange beast. Colour blindness?
Big Bad Bob Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Human perception is a strange beast. Colour blindness? So who's colour blind, #TeamBlueAndBlack or #TeamGoldAndWhite?
CB Fry Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 But I showed it to someone on my phone and they said it was Gold and White and someone else said Blue and Black, same time, same picture, same lighting conditions. Explain that! This happened in our office too, clearly isn't colour blindness. I'm in the white/gold camp. Annoyingly so is my missus and my eldest daughter which rather killed the phenomenon in my house.
egg Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Can't see how anyone can see the grey as brown myself. Grey? White and gold for me. It's bloody odd.
Whitey Grandad Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 White and Gold Me too, maybe a hint of Ivory. http://colorvisiontesting.com/ishihara.htm
Big Bad Bob Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Me too, maybe a hint of Ivory. http://colorvisiontesting.com/ishihara.htm It's blue and black then
pap Posted 27 February, 2015 Author Posted 27 February, 2015 Let's give this a go. What do you see now?
SO16_Saint Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 But I showed it to someone on my phone and they said it was Gold and White and someone else said Blue and Black, same time, same picture, same lighting conditions. Explain that! I just showed it to my 3yo son and he said 'it's gold and white, silly' whereas I see it as blue/black. Same phone screen etc etc Very weird
SO16_Saint Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 Let's give this a go. What do you see now? Blue/black You?
Jonnyboy Posted 27 February, 2015 Posted 27 February, 2015 White and gold. Then I saw tims blue and black, scrolled back up and now it looks blue and black. Now seen paps and it looks white and gold again.
