DANI OSVALDO’S WIFE ASSAULTED IN ARMED ROBBERY IN BUENOS AIRES

http://golazoargentino.com/2015/03/05/southampton-striker-osvaldos-wife-assaulted-in-armed-robbery-in-buenos-aires/

Daniel Osvaldo is never far from the headlines but for once it is not of his own making after his wife, Jimena Barón was assaulted by thieves during a robbery in Buenos Aires on Wednesday night. Osvaldo missed training with Boca Juniors on Thursday after the incident as his loan spell takes another dramatic turn.

Barón was visiting friends in Boedo when it is understood thieves threatened her with a gun before assaulting her and stealing the couples Dodge truck. Understandably Osvaldo was allowed to remain with his wife rather than report to training on Wednesday but it concludes a bizarre week of events for the on-loan striker.

Since completing his “dream” move to Boca, Osvaldo was caught up in controversy at the team hotel after some women were smuggled into the building after their victory over Temperley and he then made his debut against Montevideo Wanderers in the Copa Libertadores, where he headed the winning goal.

While Boca will be hoping that the loan deal proves to be a success on the field the Argentine newspapers are already getting their money’s worth out of Osvaldo.

Maybe this incident will make her more appreciative of little old southampton ;)

Its a shame he is a psycho, he'd be quality in Koeman's tactics.

Being a Southampton AND Boca supporter is being very difficult for me on this Osvaldo thing.

As a Boca fan I'm loving every minute of it. He looks happy. And is playing really well.

About that article, his future was NEVER in doubt. He is absolutely loved by the supporters, he has everybody in his pocket. He talked about being a Boca fan growing up, dreaming with this moment, talked about Boca pasts leyends, etc. Plus, when he arrived the country he landed with this shirt:

It was clearly a joke on Boca's heated rivals, River Plate- Boca had just beaten them 5-0 on a pre-season game. Those derbys are taken VERY seriously, pre-season or not. River fans automatically started hating the lad for this

But as Southampton fan, well... I just want him back.

In my opnion, he is way more talented than Pelle, we desperately need him up front.

I know he is a headache for every manager, but, it's just comes with the packet. Me personally, I just want to win. And we need someone like him.

Here is the thing: Boca could survive without Osvaldo, I think Southampton needs him more than Boca actually. Boca also has young striker Jonathan Calleri, who is being rumoured to be going to Arsenal. And Carlos Tevez is coming back to Boca next year.

So I love that he is playing for us in, but when the loan ends, please, let him come back. Or... let Boca keep Osvaldo and get Calleri before Arsenal does. :D

This is what this Calleri lad can do. Scored this beauty two weeks ago.

With the new work permit rules, I don't think any English club can sign Calleri unless they pay at least 10 million pounds for him.

They've not implemented this yet though have they? I thought it was just at the discussion stage?

Also, this place is going to the dogs, not one Rule 1 picture of Osvaldo's missus, despite her getting a mention above. Wouldn't have happened in my day. :?

I'm sure Boca won't care too much.

If he keeps scoring in their matches.... then they won't care how he scores in his leisure time.

Unless it's changed since the last time I was down that way a footballer, especially one who scores goals, is a god in Argentina, he lives on Mount Olympus and if he shàgs a few nymphs between creating thunderstorms and mountain ranges then good for him. Must rate amongst the globe's most macho countries.

Mhh. Not really macho. Argentina is one of the most liberal countrys of Latin America.

But the culture does differ in other aspects. We are still latin after all.

From reading this boards, I realized that the professional side of the athlete is very respected, highly regarded. In Argentina, the quality of the player is what takes the attention from the supporters. I get this from the love Fonte gets, as opossed to someone like Tadic, who would be loved in Argentina.

That's why people like Di Maria, Tevez or Osvaldo had issues adapting to England. They are not the role model type that englishmen like.

There's definitely truth in that observation. I thinks there's also a lot of respect for loyalty here, and likability as a person. Possibly more so at Southampton than other clubs in England as well. The thing that bothers me is how unforgiving we can be of the more creative players. But I suspect that comes from those who don't really understand what it means to be creative.

What brings you to Saintsweb?

New work permit rules in effect May 1 as I understand it. New homegrown player rules haven't been approved yet.

The Saints. I started to like them playing the Football Manager series. I brought them up from League 1 to the Premier, as I imagine a lot you did.

This is the first season I get to watch every game.

I felt the urge to register on this forums when Pelle started game number 34141413403 without scoring and Tadic was sitting in the bench. I couldn't understand why. Now I have a better idea.

Nowadays, I'm more passionate about Southampton than Boca. That's because Southampton is the opposite of Boca. Boca is the biggest club here, the most powerful, the most popular. To be on the top of the table it's expected from them. So supporting the underdog defying the odds is something different. And it is beautiful. Even more beautiful when your team goes on to beat Man U.

You know what I most like about Southampton? It brings up a lot players from their youth system. That is something Boca doesen't have, it just goes around buying other clubs talent for the most part.

Southampton reminds me of Argentinos Juniors in Argentina. That club produced excellent talent over the years: Cambiasso, Coloccini, Redondo, Biglia, and Boca's gratest leyends: Riquelme and Maradona. They both came at a young age from Argentinos.

By the way, Osvaldo is in the highlight spot once again. Not for the goal he scored as you can imagine. This time for his "eat some grass, you donkey" scene:

LOL! Oh dear Osvaldo!

Great you picked the Saints, very cool to have a fan amongst us from the other side of the world. And good to have a scout/expert in Argentina. I'm sure you'll have lots to bring this forum...

I'm just saying we worship his skill, flair AND loyalty...

It's really a case of; personal ambition ...or club loyalty. But in the " international / big club " world of football the system scr*ws the players.

You can ask yourself ..would Alan Shearer have been an England legend...if he had stayed at The Dell all his career ?....very doubtful.

MLT (to his immense credit) stayed all his career with Saints, but several England managers (Venables and Hoddle !)...ignored him even when at his peak.

I don't blame anyone wanting to better himself, but I do admire loyalty, especially when those who observe it ......pay a financial price - by not moving away.

If only he wasn't such an idiot it is a real shame to see his talent utterly wasted I'd give my right hand for his ability and I'm sure many others would too!

Not my right hand, I'm using that

In entirely unrelated issue, I could stand to hear more details of the sex party pls, if our Argentina correspondent could oblige pls

It is was reported by the yellow journalism that him and a fitness coach set up a meeting in a hotel room with this girl for a teammate who scored after a drought, who was caught in the act by the Boca's manager. There are mutliple versions of the story, some involve Osvaldo taking part of the action too.

So will they buy and how much will we get? 6m would be nice.

Well I'd think that would depend on the quality of the sex parties that he organises from now until June. However as the Argentine season runs from about February up until December it may well be that his loan is not really related to the standard

UK PL season.
