Wade Garrett Posted 24 February, 2015 Share Posted 24 February, 2015 Bent FIFA c*nts. Platini is pretty quiet as well. Nothing to do with the French being in Qatar's pocket. I really hope there is a mass boycott.
Batman Posted 24 February, 2015 Share Posted 24 February, 2015 There won't be a boycott by anyone. It will be sold to us English folk that we will do better as the players will be far less knackered at that time of year Looks like European football leagues will have to make huge shifts over a few years
aintforever Posted 24 February, 2015 Share Posted 24 February, 2015 It is f*cking bonkers. The whole organisation is so obviously corrupt. I still can't see it happening in Quatar, at the end of the day the big European Clubs is where the money and the players are - I can't see them rolling over. If it does take place in the middle eastern sh!t-hole it will be the worst World cup ever anyway.
Wade Garrett Posted 24 February, 2015 Author Share Posted 24 February, 2015 If I was in charge of the Australian or USA bids, I would seriously be considering suing FIFA. They were, after all, bidding for a Summer tournament. Really hope a breakaway organisation is formed from this. There are rats running the game at the moment. You could give the USA just 28 days notice and they would put together a better World Cup than what we will get if it happens in Quatar.

With a population of only 2million and just 15,000 hotel rooms in the whole country (60,000 by 2022), most games are going to be half empty

benjii Posted 24 February, 2015 Share Posted 24 February, 2015 Such a shame really. I looked forward to the Brazil world cup immensely but this is going to be ****e. Probably even worse than South Africa.

Probably even worse than South Africa. South Africa had loads more going for it than Qatar - its a big proper country with a lot of people who like football. You cant overestimate how desolate and empty 90% of Qatar is. Edited 24 February, 2015 by buctootim
Wade Garrett Posted 24 February, 2015 Author Share Posted 24 February, 2015 Phil Neville talking it up now. Was interested in his views until I read he works for Doha based Al-Jazeera. Hardly impartial is he, the greedy, phoney c*nt.
CB Saint Posted 25 February, 2015 Share Posted 25 February, 2015 makes it doubly important to have a team full of England internationals. At least that way we can guarantee that they get a decent break after the group stages before having to play on Boxing Day
Wurzel Posted 25 February, 2015 Share Posted 25 February, 2015 All the "big nations" who are against it should form an agreement, not to cause a fuss, agree to take part, then deliberately lose all their qualifiers. A WC played in empty stadiums where the likes of Iceland, Bhutan, Nicaragua, Guyana, and dare I say Scotland are among the top seeds will be a huge embarrassment let alone a financial disaster to the corrupt ****s. Whitey Grandad Posted 25 February, 2015 Share Posted 25 February, 2015 If all the big leagues pressed for realistic compensation, and I'm talking about billions here, followed up with the threat of the strongest legal action then surely FIFA couldn't afford to pursue this line of action? FIFA have said that no league will get compensation. They have truly sold the soul of our game to the oil dollar. Personally, couldn't care less if we never entered another World Cup. End international football if this is what it means.

The trouble is that so many players in the Premier League are internationals from other countries who may well participate. A UEFA tournament, maybe expanded, would be an acceptable alternative. SuperMikey Posted 25 February, 2015 Share Posted 25 February, 2015 At least it will provoke discussion at the top level in the FA of introducing a winter break, which I think we need in English football. The whole Qatar WC situation is f*cked though. After the FIFA Presidential elections in May, could the venue/date be re-arranged?
