ericb Posted 25 February, 2015 Share Posted 25 February, 2015 The 80s were proper ****, don't understand the modern love in for them. Mind you that said going to football was much better back then and i vividly remember waiting outside Rumbelows, or in the sports shop by east street (because they always had solent on), waiting for the saints away score to come in. Plastic Posted 25 February, 2015 Share Posted 25 February, 2015 Quite enjoyed the 80s, as I was a child I didn't have to work, and it seemed like I was permanently on holiday.
Turkish Posted 25 February, 2015 Share Posted 25 February, 2015 I was told today that the bloke who used to be bungle was walking round our Nottingham office giving out sweets. Apparently one of our suppliers use him for promotional work. Pretty tight budgets if they're using a bloke no one has ever heard of who used to dress up as a bear for a living 30 years ago. Turkish Posted 25 February, 2015 Share Posted 25 February, 2015 Yep, I did the same. Me too. Currys up by where Yates is now was another spot. As a kid if Saints were away we used to go to the pictures where the square ballon is now and usually be out as the results were coming in. Halo Stickman Posted 26 February, 2015 Share Posted 26 February, 2015 When I was at the start of my drinking career, a pub quite near to where I lived served Mild at 10p a pint. Furthermore, one of the locals was a young woman who, in exchange for a couple of cigarettes, was more than happy to take regulars round the back for a blow-job. These are just two of the reasons why I preferred the 70s.
