ericofarabia Posted 23 February, 2015 Posted 23 February, 2015 (edited) I thought maybe it was just my imagination, that we always seem to lose on TV, but it seems I'm not far off the mark I may have missed some but from what I can make out our Live TV record so far this season is P9 W 1 D 2 L 6 .... basically relegation form!! Fans from other teams must really wonder how we have been up at the top all season if all they see is our Live games!! The solitary win was probably the most unlikely - at Old Trafford. Of the draws a decent result at home to Chelsea, but also a poor draw at a very poor Villa. All 4 of our home league defeats have been televised In fact only 2 our 8 defeats haven't been shown, at Spurs and Burnley. So as far as I can tell ... I buried my TV in the garden before the Man Utd game and was jolly pleased to see in Monday's papers that we did indeed win that game.
Wiggles31 Posted 23 February, 2015 Posted 23 February, 2015 The home TV games as well as being a nuisance in changing of time/date we have a poor record. Away record on TV is actually pretty good. Chelsea away is the next TV game and Spurs I think is on TV.

Reply to the OP ............all the games are on TV............so we have a winning record in televised games I was referring to the UK TV games which get rearranged specifically for that purpose, and more often than not put travelling fans to an inconvenience and end up watching a defeat for their troubles!! I know very well that every game is shown worldwide, and work permitting I manage to watch virtually every game.

There is a logical explanation though. The vast majority of your televised games have been against the top teams and those games have shown up your limitations. I think this is all our tv games since the start of last season: West Ham (H) 0-0 Fulham (H) 2-0 Chelsea (A) 1-3 Tottenham (H) 2-3 Chelsea (H) 0-3 Sunderland (A) 2-2 Sunderland (A) 0-1 Liverpool (H) 0-3 Tottenham (A) 2-3 Man City (A) 1-4 Everton (H) 2-0 Liverpool (A) 1-2 Aston Villa (A) 1-1 Man City (H) 0-3 Arsenal (A) 0-1 Man Utd (H) 1-2 Chelsea (H) 1-1 Man Utd (A) 1-0 Ipswich (A) 1-0 Newcastle (A) 2-1 Liverpool (H) 0-2 W: 5 D: 4 L: 12 Before the Man U away game, the record was W2 D4 L11 which felt statistically significantly but I've kind of abandoned following it properly since then because of the upturn in TV results. As said above, the standard of teams that we are likely to be playing against when our matches are televised are on average far better than in general across the season. So the record is pretty much what you would expect really.
