I thought maybe it was just my imagination, that we always seem to lose on TV, but it seems I'm not far off the mark :uhoh:

I may have missed some but from what I can make out our Live TV record so far this season is P9 W 1 D 2 L 6 .... basically relegation form!!

Fans from other teams must really wonder how we have been up at the top all season if all they see is our Live games!!

The solitary win was probably the most unlikely - at Old Trafford. Of the draws a decent result at home to Chelsea, but also a poor draw at a very poor Villa.

All 4 of our home league defeats have been televised :scared: In fact only 2 our 8 defeats haven't been shown, at Spurs and Burnley.

So as far as I can tell ...

On TV Live P 9 W 1 D 2 L 6 Relegation Form

Not Liv P17 W13 D 2 L 2 Champs League Form

Please keep us off the TV FFS.

Edit ... was Newcastle awy on the box? Only slightly changes the stats though!!

There is no such thing as a "curse".

In any case every single Premier League game is live on TV around the world.

Well i prayed for the curse to be lifted before the Newcastle game and it seemed to work. :smug:

I buried my TV in the garden before the Man Utd game and was jolly pleased to see in Monday's papers that we did indeed win that game.

The home TV games as well as being a nuisance in changing of time/date we have a poor record. Away record on TV is actually pretty good. Chelsea away is the next TV game and Spurs I think is on TV.

Man U Ipswich and Newcastle all away wins on tv in one week .

Ipswich was in The FA Cup and I wasn't sure about the Newcastle game, which makes it P 10 W 2 D 2 L6, compared to P16 W12 D 2 L 2.

Wasn't Arse at SMS on TV too? 2-0?

This is the fact that quelled this myth for me.

It's a british TV curse duh!

Earlier in the season after the Villa draw Ed Chamberlin said he'd never presented a saints win!

Posted

The games that have been televised in UK, off the top of my head:

Liverpool

Aston Villa

Man City

Arsenal

Man United

Chelsea

Man United

Ipswich

Newcastle

Swansea

Liverpool

So if the game is shown in Wales, N. Ireland or Scotland It will still lay the curse.

All this curse stuff is piffle but Ed can stay away.

He's obviously bad luck.

Yes it was......... here...........

Reply to the OP ............all the games are on TV............so we have a winning record in televised games

I was referring to the UK TV games which get rearranged specifically for that purpose, and more often than not put travelling fans to an inconvenience and end up watching a defeat for their troubles!!

I know very well that every game is shown worldwide, and work permitting I manage to watch virtually every game.

We'd surely be top of a ' true table' of Saturday 3pm kick offs.

You bet ..... P 10 W 8 D 1 L 1 F23 A 3

It's a press / Fa conspiracy putting us on TV I tells ya :scared:

It's time for a how the table would look if only game that weren't shown on telly counted thread.

Liverpool and Man U would be bottom

P0 W0 D0 L0 F0 A0

For some unknown reason (besides bent referees) the "TV Curse" doesn't seem to work on them.

It wasn't a TV curse on Sunday it was my bloody mate walking under the little sign outside the bike shop on Britannia Road after I told him not to.

There is only so much power your lucky under crackers can bring to the game without outside forces diminishing their power !!

I prayed that it wouldn't and my prayer failed.

I prayed before you did that prayer, and prayed that none of your prayers would work, I also prayed that you would be a tedious bell-end, that worked a treat too.

You should be careful not to waste your prayers.

Regarding your games that have been shown on British TV......As a non Saints fan I have been disappointed in your performances. There is a logical explanation though. The vast majority of your televised games have been against the top teams and those games have shown up your limitations. (Not being disrespectful but that's the way I see it)

I've been tracking this too because I was completely fed up with watching saints lose on tv. I think this is all our tv games since the start of last season:

West Ham (H) 0-0

Fulham (H) 2-0

Chelsea (A) 1-3

Tottenham (H) 2-3

Chelsea (H) 0-3

Sunderland (A) 2-2

Sunderland (A) 0-1

Liverpool (H) 0-3

Tottenham (A) 2-3

Man City (A) 1-4

Everton (H) 2-0

Liverpool (A) 1-2

Aston Villa (A) 1-1

Man City (H) 0-3

Arsenal (A) 0-1

Man Utd (H) 1-2

Chelsea (H) 1-1

Man Utd (A) 1-0

Ipswich (A) 1-0

Newcastle (A) 2-1

Liverpool (H) 0-2

W: 5

D: 4

L: 12

Before the Man U away game, the record was W2 D4 L11 which felt statistically significantly but I've kind of abandoned following it properly since then because of the upturn in TV results.

As said above, the standard of teams that we are likely to be playing against when our matches are televised are on average far better than in general across the season. So the record is pretty much what you would expect really.

Like when we lost to United at home 1-2 where they had their lowest ever shots at goal in a league game after battering them for 90 minutes?

To be fair, not winning when we outplay the other team is our weakness.

yeah, it showed out limitations in front of goal, which is seeing us starting to fade away
