austsaint Posted 22 February, 2015 Share Posted 22 February, 2015 Targett out of his depth this match. Not just for the cck up, but has given possession away too many times. Reallt have missed Bertrand. Up front we have been woefully bad. No chances created...nothing. Plus an extremely poor referee, cost us this game. Can't agree with you about Targett; apart from the slip which was unlucky, he has had a good match.

NewYorkSaint Posted 22 February, 2015 Share Posted 22 February, 2015 we have enough great attackers to try a system w/o Pelle for a few games. i love the guy... but he mgiht just need a break. having said that his ball in the opening 15 seconds could and should have won the game for us another day... stpedro Posted 22 February, 2015 Share Posted 22 February, 2015 Think we have been worked out strategically. Liverpool playing in exactly the same way Swansea, West Ham etc played against us, playing deep and hitting us on the counterattack. We are really struggling to break teams down, neither midfield nor wide men are creating any chances unfortunately. It's not like we're playing badly, since in 2/3rds of the pitch we are controlling things well, but somehow we have got to get more out of Elia, Mané, Djuricic, Pelle, Tadic, Ward-Prowse et al. It's the lack of a killer final ball, a well measured cross or (most frustratingly) a decent long range shot that is holding us back. Liverpool have done exactly the same job as our last 4/5 opponents and taken the chances, one with a great goal, one with our one defensive slip in the game

captainchris Posted 22 February, 2015 Share Posted 22 February, 2015 There is no way that Pelle should be picked for the next match. The coaches need to take a very harsh honest look at themselves, this system constantly having Pelle with back to goal like he inists on doing is NOT working so tell him to face the goal or DROP HIM or drop the coaches - one of the two !!!! Edmonton Saint Posted 22 February, 2015 Share Posted 22 February, 2015 Well seeming we couldn't find a breakthrough past a 9 man West Ham last game, this should be no surprise.

My issue with his current play is more to do with his apparent inability to get anywhere near any of our crosses. Given that we cross more than any either side, he needs to be making more of a nuisance of himself. Fatigue, perhaps.

We get to the box..... wait...... look for the perfect pass.... not there... wait.... pass it backwards.... look again.... zzz.... zzzzz Could do with a bit of zip-bang-wallop!
