Really? Irrespective as to if this is true do we really need this sort of discussion on here?

We are in safe hands both on and off the pitch, life at the club has never looked rosier, a healthy league position.

To destabilise moral with this talk won't help the players in the run in to season end. Destabilise? Yes - did this not occur during the last debacle.

That is read extensively by the players, ex-players, player's families and SMS staff to get all the gossip. So be careful out there, it's easy to recognise a Goatboy walking around in a Saints top these days.

It's ok, I don't own a Saints top and I'm disguised as Paul Potts.

To me KL seems as keen as she ever was
She does seem keen and very engaged, she'll sell one day, but it doesn't look like it'll be too soon.

I can't see how buying a football club of our size and current stature would be a particularly worthwhile investment for anyone with £100m+, but I guess the Premier League will continue to attract people for one reason or another.

Villa is an interesting situation. They are (or should be) a huge club. Big stadium, big potential fan base, titles, cups etc. But they've been up for sale for an age now. Maybe the asking price is too high, but as many commentators say, it isn't a hugely attractive proposition given FFP rules. So while you have to be smarter than FIFA/FA I am not sure it's that simple otherwise surely Villa would have gone down that route.

The way to get around FFP is to have large commercial sponsorship deals that are not discounted for involving related parties paying above the real value. This translates into have rich, but legally unconnected friends, willing to have you money (tens of millions of pounds a year) for a sponsorship that isn't worth what they are paying. I am sure some people have friends like that, but it really doesn't sound like rich person behavior.

The long term way to beat FFP (while complying with it) is to set up a successful academy. Academy expenses don't count against FFP. We are lucky enough to have a huge head start on this strategy, but Man City is trying to do this. For someone like Villa the owner would have to be willing to pump in a lot of money over many years before seeing a good return--depending in part on how good the Villa academy is right now.

FFP can also be exploited by building a big new stadium. Those costs also don't count against FFP and if you have the fan base to fill the stadium you can increase your spendable revenue under FFP significantly. This is why Tottenham, Chelsea, and others are looking at new stadiums. It is also why West Ham is likely to be on the rise for real. They have a new stadium coming up that they can probably fill which has cost them effectively nothing in both real terms and FFP terms. Plus, as I understand it, they have decent academy already.
