"Aston Villa is a 'triffic club and I'm delighted to be here. The knee is much better now thanks"...

Hardly surprising he's gone after their recent form - and not at all surprising the player's lack of motivation, he's the most boring person I've ever had the misfortune to meet.

I prefer the term 'sacked' as I'm of the English persuasion, also it's favourite with a u on these shores.

Yes, I am Saintsweb's very own soup Nazi from Seinfeld.

No soup for you!

one of the interim coaches is Scott Marshall , once of these lands.

wiki entry.

In August 1998, Dave Jones signed him for Southampton on a free transfer. Saints thought they had made a transfer coup, but Marshall soon showed why Arsenal let him go, scoring an own goal in his debut against Leeds United in a 3–0 defeat on 8 September 1998, repeating this four days later in a 4–0 defeat at Newcastle United.

I wonder if Sherwood will get this one

He keeps plugging away...but no one wants him!

Doesn't he want far too much money? In fact so much that prospective employers could get a real manager for the same sum.

he is 2015's Curbishley

Nah. Curbishley actually achieved stuff as a top flight manager. Sherwood seems to be touted around as some managerial genius on the back of a handful of matches with someone else's team.

I think its more along the lines that he thinks he is some sort of managerial genius.

sherwood has a good record as a manager at spurs. why not?

Spurs have players of genuine ability and have cash to spend if required (and often do).

Villa have some decent players, but I think its too late for them.

Well, in one sense he is. He has demonstrated how to get a decent Premier League job with very little experience.

I am so pumped by this! Sherwood was my Dream Appointment! I mean, I dare say they'll stay up, their players are slightly less shit than some of the other relegation bros, and Lambert was so dour that appointing any kind of comedian will have a short term positive effect. I would have plumped for Tim Vine, or Jasper Carrot, if he could be persuaded away from the blues. But this appointment guarantees they'll be shit again next season

Anyone remember when he played Kyle Walker in midfield vs Chelsea?
