THAT Forster save...

Thing with that save - it was brilliant, however if that had gone in, he would have got so much flak for letting a ball go past within arms reach.

Only from idiots. For the ball to change flight so close to him, that would go in more often than not and there's nowt he or any keeper could do about it. Frankly there was a big slice of luck in that the ball wasn't a bit further away from him, or that Austin didn't get a bit more on it so it was out of his reach completely, but it was still a great reaction save.

Amazing save. But very poor from Elia in not getting out, the rest of the side pushed up once the ball was cleared yet he stayed on the line playing Austin well onside.

In fairness with being a winger, he's not going to be as well drilled in playing the offside trap. So long as he does his jobs well I wont berate him too much for that.

He was stationed on the far post, you have to respect that responsibility and concentrate. Could have easily cost us.

I thought it was Clyne who raised his hand but never mind. The raised left hand was exactly the same thing as Forster did with his right hand: an instinctive movement by a Saints player just in front of the goal line in response to Austin touching the ball. The defender was too far away; Forster was in just the right position and knocked the ball over the bar. A great save. But less good was FF's calamitous faffing around and dropping the ball in the last minute of extra time. We certainly got lucky there, for a second time. I cannot remember a season in which we have had so much good fortune.

I've been a big critic of Forster this season, but he certainly didn't faff around. Caught the ball, guy jumped into him, he dropped it. It happens.

I also fail to see what's lucky about it being disallowed. If the guy hadn't fouled him he wouldn't have dropped it, and if Onouha hadn't been on the floor offside to deflect it then Fonte would have been able to clear.

Austin shoved Fonte into Forster while Onohua collided with him so there were 2 players crashing into him at the same time. Austin's push is indisputably a foul.

Expecting the ref to apply the Laws of the game correctly has nothing to do with luck.

Gets better more times I see it, and love the reactions of Barton and Austin.

Anyway...anyone got a clip of it I can use on the interwebz?

I was hoping that the Saints media team would put it on the Saints Wall - to use on intarweb etc. Lots of good publicity for both Forster and the club! Thanks to saint_roffa for the link...

Still remain to be convinced by Forster, young and learning at the moment, but needs to sort out his area.

Great to see this sort of save though, which is what a giant like him should be doing in goal...very Peter Schmeichel!

I like Forster, but he's 26. I know that's young for a keeper but Hart is only a year older and already miles ahead of him.
