9-3 Posted 5 February, 2015 Share Posted 5 February, 2015 What was that all about kicking off Chapel right hand side 5 min before end of game. All of Chapel stood up to look.
markr27 Posted 5 February, 2015 Share Posted 5 February, 2015 There was a decent contingent of Dutch fans (FC Groningen I think)... one of them decided to change the mood with a trumpet... playing the last post when the Swansea kid was being treated, and eventually "having a go" at playing When the Saints go Matching In. All friendly from where I was sat.
The Cat Posted 5 February, 2015 Share Posted 5 February, 2015 I heard the crowd cheering from where I was bit couldn't work out what was going on. As an aside I heard tonight that an old chap had a heart attack in the Dell bar before the game. Stewards, St John's and a cardiac nurse who happened to be in there administered CPR and saved him. By the time the ambulance got there he was brought round and talking. He had a clot in his artery and surgeons have put in a stent and he's fine now. Well done to everyone involved. bpsaint Posted 5 February, 2015 Share Posted 5 February, 2015 There appeared to be some sort of fight in block 38/39 too from what I could see in the Northam, think a guy took a swing at a steward too. Anyone know what that was about?
angelman Posted 5 February, 2015 Share Posted 5 February, 2015 Yup - seems someone had a trumpet and the stewards went into turbo **** mode to see who it was who dared do that?
Goatboy Posted 6 February, 2015 Share Posted 6 February, 2015 Yup - seems someone had a trumpet and the stewards went into turbo **** mode to see who it was who dared do that? This. I think the stewards were concerned that if the trumpet player carried on for much longer, 4 fifths of the chapel would wake up and there would be a mad rush for the exits. Probably the best place for it to have happened given all the expertise around him.
Toomer Posted 6 February, 2015 Share Posted 6 February, 2015 Someone did give someone a dig as I chap I work with was sat next to it, couple of chaps who had never sat there before one of them was winding everybody up througout the game and pushed his luck a bit to far and got a slap for his troubles. iansums Posted 6 February, 2015 Share Posted 6 February, 2015 I was sat in the Chapel for the Swansea game, didn't notice anything. However I did let out a little trumpet of my own during the second half, bloody smelly one too, I got a few funny looks.
Matthew Le Tissier Posted 8 February, 2015 Share Posted 8 February, 2015 Brilliant story! Could have been a very different outcome. Probably the best place for it to have happened given all the expertise around him. That's brilliant news. This gents decision to go to watch saints would have saved his life for sure.
