once_bitterne Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Sensible move imho as it was a reckless tackle. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11765619.Saints_won_t_appeal_Bertrand_red_card/?ref=rss&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
Saint Garrett Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Thought we would, dont think it was a red.
BigShadow Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Even though I thought it was slightly harsh - it is not the kind of red card that gets overturned.
Bwanamakubwa Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 It will just be classed as excessive force, which being subjective is very tough to over turn
eurosaint Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Even though I thought it was slightly harsh - it is not the kind of red card that gets overturned. This !
cellone Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 This is going to be a dull thread unless someone can fake a bit of outrage to get it going. Roger?
niceandfriendly Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 One footed and got the ball. Definite red in the modern game. f*ck the modern game
CB Saint Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 This is going to be a dull thread unless someone can fake a bit of outrage to get it going. Roger? Ok Disgusting decision. Epitomises the lack of backbone of the board. Its little decisions like this that undermine their credibility in the eyes of the FA, fans and the football world in general. How will they manage to persuade Toby, Ryan and Clyne to sign deals if we are being run by a bunch of spineless chancers. Joke club.

You need to question the footballing nouse of other posters in a condescending and insulting fashion and you'll have it in the bag.
St_Tel49 Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 it would have stood. wreckless challenge I don't know about that - their player looked pretty wrecked
fanimal Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 What has annoyed me even more is that earlier on when Barrow clattered him with the ball yards away he didn't even get a booking!! And that after his spat right in front of the assistant ref! No justice whatsoever!! JUSTICE FOR RYAN NOW

Bucks Saint Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Dont think MOTD2 helped. Tried to show Ryan running to get to the ball first, but looking at MB and then hesitating slightly, almost waiting for the other player to arrive before tackling.
East Kent Saint Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 I thought it was a 50/50 live but on MoTD they slow mo'd it and said Ryan looked at Barrow then slowed down to ensure he made contact ! he did look at Barrow but then looked at the ball . They also showed earlier spats and deemed it premeditated so not much chance of an appeal. Rumour has it Barrow was OK so stretcher may have been part of the con !!

krissyboy31 Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 It was not a red card but not enough evidence the other way that would have got it overturned.
Deano6 Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Hey guys, sorry to derail this thread, but was talking to my mate down the pub and he reckoned that Glenn Hoddle would have joined the club post-Strachan in 2004 were it not for a vocal minority hounding him out. Is this true? Disgusting if so, Glenn Hoddle would not have taken us down and made us endure the nightmare of those sh!tty lower leagues for years, which we are only just recovering from now. Those people should hang their heads in shame!

Viking Warrior Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Premeditated and correct decision. Not sure where you get that from . In my opinion it wasn't premeditated
simo Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Not sure where you get that from . In my opinion it wasn't premeditated As they said on sky sports last night he could of got to that ball quicker but had a scuffle with the player prior to that so he waited to give him a bump , saying that Monk said it wasn't a red and the lad will be fine was more in shock at the tackle!
egg Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Not sure where you get that from . In my opinion it wasn't premeditated It looked it to me. He seemed to flick out with his leading leg before connecting and caught him behind his knee with his trailing leg. Horrible tackle and deserved a red.
Leicestersaint Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Ridiculous decision. he got the ball. Cliff Huxford would have no chance these days.
SaintAndyB Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Deserved the red card and wise desicion not to appeal.
