Convict Colony Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 I would play JWP ahead of Tadic purely on his ability to take corners and free kicks. Tadic is woeful with a dead ball, and at the moment isn't that impressive when its a moving one. Could do with a spell on the bench in my opinion. I wouldn't as every awesome chance seems to be falling to JWP at the moment who's in a somewhat of a goal drought
Bad Wolf Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 We will win if Schneiderlin and Wanyama are fully fit and both start. Best CM partnership in the league IMO. I honestly wouldn't swap either one of them for any other midfielder in the country.
WealdSaint Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 I can't see QPR sitting and soaking the pressure up. They are the home team. I'm hoping that they will go for it allowing Elia & Mane to hit them with their pace.
Convict Colony Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 (edited) I don't have a problem with the perceived striker shortage as I think Pelle is doing an excellent job in his first season, where I think we have struggled until recently is the goals from the wide men in the 3 and the attacking midfielder role. I think Koeman's complaint to Tadic about shooting more reveals more about how he expects his forwards to contribute in this regard (rather than just assist as you can't be 1 dimensional in this team) and if you look at the current goal tallies: Davis - 21 games and 0 goals Tadic - 20 games 3 goals Mane - 11 games and 4 goals JWP - 10 games and 0 goals Elia - 3 games and 2 goals Total Goals - 9 goals in 65 games (statistically) or once every 7 and a bit games. I don't think that is enough for the quality of players we have, Elia has started hot and Mane is in form based on the last month or so, Davis and JWP need to score something even if its off their arse and Tadic for the quality and positions he gets into should have more than 3 goals. I would say that I really think Elia and Mane can help pump this number up but Davis (certain to score today) and JWP/Tadic need to contribute, I think an average of 5 across those 5 should be the initial target. Just for comparison our DM's: Morgan - 16 games and 3 goals Vic - 14 games and 3 goals Jack - 5 games and 2 goals Total goals - 8 goals in 35 games (statistically) or one in every 4 and a bit games. Defenders: Ryan - 22 games and 2 goals Clyne - 21 games and 2 goals Maya - 9 games and 1 goal Toby - 16 games and 1 goal Jose - 22 games and 0 goals Florian - 5 games and 0 goals Total goals - 6 goals in 95 games (statistically) or one in 15 and a bit games Edited 7 February, 2015 by Convict Colony added defenders
JoeShmoe Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Would play Forster Clyne Fonte Yoshida Targett Wanyama Morgan Davis Elia Mane Pelle I'd start with this too, with JWP and Tadic options off the bench Tadic has a habit of slowing down the play all the time and the clever passes he was making start of the year have gone. Get the base with MS and VW and let Mane and Elia run at the back 4 I'll lay money Austin scores against us though ....
Lighthouse Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 SSN piece on Redknapp a bit nauseating. He never blames the players according to Merse.
Convict Colony Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 SSN piece on Redknapp a bit nauseating. He never blames the players according to Merse. Yeah it was pretty bad especially when he said if any club needed a manager they'd give him a call for sure once he was "fit" again.
JoeShmoe Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 #SaintsFC team vs @QPRFC: Forster, Clyne, Fonte ©, Yoshida, Targett, Wanyama, S. Davis, Ward-Prowse, Elia, Mané, Pellè. MS on bench
DG Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Good to see big Vic starting and the trio of Elia, Pelle and Mane.
Trader Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Yeah it was pretty bad especially when he said if any club needed a manager they'd give him a call for sure once he was "fit" again. I can think of one club that wouldn't.
Lighthouse Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Mane and Elia against Hill and Dunne could be entertaining.
Batman Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Surely the pace we have going forward will cause all sorts of problem against their defence
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Should be able to rip Clint hill apart with the pace down that side
nta786 Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Only worry I have is that Taarabt has a world against us to prove a point or something.
Convict Colony Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Well at least Koeman knows about Fer's strengths and weaknesses
Leicestersaint Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Glad to see Flannigan on the bench - good right back in the making. Why isn't Morgan starting? It's all a bit harsh on Reed.
Batman Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Glad to see Flannigan on the bench - good right back in the making. Why isn't Morgan starting? It's all a bit harsh on Reed. Morgan probably is quite ready for 90mins against a side who are fighting for their lives etc
GarrettIvo Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Glad to see Flannigan on the bench - good right back in the making. Why isn't Morgan starting? It's all a bit harsh on Reed. Reed is 19 and has plenty of time. Not harsh at all. Morgan maybe not ready for 90 minutes.
ART Posted 7 February, 2015 Posted 7 February, 2015 Reed is 19 and has plenty of time. Not harsh at all. Morgan maybe not ready for 90 minutes. Reed is 20. Birthday 2 weeks ago
