We should be nearly back to full strength. I'm not interested in what QPR are doing, we must beat them. There can be no excuses. This is our biggest game in nearly 3 years. Let's hope we play like it is. Going to go for a 2-1 win, Mane and Dunne og. Defeat is absolutely unthinkable, so nervous already

I can't see Toby Alderweld in any of the training photos, so hopefully another chance for Maya to show his qualitees.

I agree with glasgow

No need to stress Toby's hammy if we dont have to either, maya is more than capable and Gardos is on the bench. I dont know 'how' fit Vic and Morgan are yet either

Near enough, yes. Still a great season but it would be difficult to accept losing out on a top 4 spot having been in the race for so long. How some people think we might still have a chance if we lose on Saturday is beyond me.

At worse a loss this weekend would see Saints 3 points off 4th, a loss could also see Saints still 4th on Sunday evening. Why would that mean Saints wouldn't have a chance with 14 more games?

Because prior to the Swansea game, we needed to win around 2 out of every 3 games to have a chance of 4th, so losing a maximum of 5 from 16. So say we do lose saturday, do you honestly think we will get through 14 games only losing 3?

I'll say it again...

I fail to see how that would give us no chance as you claim.

MLG.

If we lose on Saturday, there is no way we could be fourth on Sunday evening- we will drop out of the top 4.

Check your facts son. If we lose and Arsenal win or draw, they will overtake us, or if we lose and Spurs win, then they will overtake us too and go into fourth.

My general point still stands, we'd still be close enough to 4th for it to be odd to completely write us off as Saint_Tony has stated.

If we lose and Tottenham win we will slip out of 4th place, but we still have to play them at our place so it would still be in our hands. If Arsenal win....well it does make it that much harder.

I just can't wish Spurs to win though, so a draw it is (even though that puts Arsenal above us if we lose)

Having said that...I think we will win 3-1 :)

I fail to see how you've failed to answer my question. If we lose on saturday, do you think we will lose no more than 3 games for the rest of the season?

It will be difficult Saint_Tony no question.

Just try re-wording it differently to your original "how some people think we might still have a chance if we lose Saturday" which is where MLG is going from. Of course we have a chance, if not all that big.

Tony's right though. If we don't beat QPR on Saturday after losing at home to Swansea, we can pretty much kiss goodbye to top 4.

And while Aussie is right that if we lose and spurs win then they still have us to play, well if we can't beat QPR then we're unlikely to turn spurs over.

Funnily enough I said exactly the same thing to myself after the West Brom game back in August.

Nailed on loss on Saturday.

The Dubai Massive are (FINALLY) having their much postponed 40 point party before the game with fine dining by Eric & sponsored by Heineken & OSH.

Which means we'll all break our usual "lucky" routines for getting down the pub to watch the match.

It was such a simple plan, nailed on 3 pointer against 'twitchy and then we go and get new manager syndrome as well.

Ho hum.

With so many players coming back I doubt that RK will want them all on the pitch at the same time in case of stamina/match fitness/reactions so would expect to see only one of MS/VW making a start alongside the ever improving Harry Read.

Big decision is whether we need to have two DM's against the unbalanced midfield of QPR in which case I'd go with this. Personally I don't think we'd need them so would go with Morgan as lone DM and Davis JWP in CM with the wide players more in support of Pelle. But then I know sod all, would actually like to see Mane play up alongside Pelle in a more 4-4-2 (4-4-1-1) formation as I think that is his strongest position & he scares CB's to death and would also give Caulker two different problems to cope with.

..................... Forster......

Clyne......Fonte......Maya........Targett

.................VW/Morgan............

Tadic...Davis...JWP........Elia

..............Mane....................

..............Pelle.......................

Subs: KD VW/MS, Gardos, Read, Djuricic, McCarthy, Seager/Gallagher

On the positive side it will be on live streams but not on Sky so maybe Eric will finally see us win this season in the EPL at the Pub after all. In which case Sunday is cancelled

Don't think we are allowed to start with 12 on the pitch. :?

It's a big if. Let's just hope we do win and stay on track.

Ok, so I would pick

Forster

Clyne - Font - Yoshi - Targett

----Victor------Morgan------

--Davis-----------------Elia-

-------------Mane--------

------------Pelle-------------

A sort of 4-4-2, 4-3-3 hybrid depending on the pattern of the play.

Bench: KD, Gardos, McCarthy, Reed, JWP, Tadic, Seager

Good news about Morgan and Vic. Hopefully both are fully recovered and can stay fit, now that we've lost some of our strength in that area.

I'd go with Forster, Clyne, Fonte, Yoshi, Targett, Morgan, Vic, Davis, Elia, Tadic, Pelle. Bench Kelvin, Gardos, Reed, JWP, Mane, Seager, Isgrove

Yep, I'd go with the same, although I'm wondering if Koeman might put either Mane or Elia down as a sub to give him more impact off the bench. Either way, its good to have options again!

Be suprised if JWP doesn't start, just because he usually does.

Said the same thing coming out of the ground on Sunday, however I don't see a place for him in the team at the moment - still not sure where he plays.

So Poch built the entire team at Saints, Started from scratch at Spurs.....Bloody hell, the Premier League must be a shambles with all these teams being so crap. I hope they get to work soon on making it the world's most followed League.

I agree that Tadic should start on the bench, I'm not sure he is earning his starting place at the moment.

For those saying that would leave us with less of an attacking option on the bench- probably true, but Tadic coming on as a sub worked out okay at Old Trafford.

Any suggestions for pubs other than (what used to be) O'Neills? Walkabout has closed down, i think someone said.

There is the engineers weld which is decent but home fans only, just don't wear colours.

We're going to drink in the Churchill Arms in Notting hill FWIW.
