rickylambert Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 The quicker we move on from that the better. Hopefully with Morgan, Toby and Big Vic back, we can get back to winning ways. COYR.
Saint Charlie Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Personally would be suprised if all of them are back. Wanayama's hammy seemed quite bad and that was only 2 and a half weeks ago.
Wiggles31 Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Could opportunity to gain back points on teams with Spurs v Arsenal and Liverpool away at Everton. Winnable away game but we need to create more opportunities for the possession we have.
aintforever Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 We need Morgan and Wanyama back or we are f*cked.
Appy Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Think Schneiderlin will be back, less confident on the other 2.
Smirking_Saint Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Play like today against QPR and we will destroy them basically
Saint_Tony Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Now this really is a must win game, even a draw is no good. Their defence is awful, play like we did today and we will create enough opportunities to score a couple. If we lose, that really is it as far as the top 4 is concerned
shurlock Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Play like today against QPR and we will destroy them basically Utter nonsense - they're very competitive at home and already showed at SMS they can mix it up. They're very physical and direct and will try to follow Palace's recent gameplan which we struggled with. Much will depend on who returns for us and whether they hit the ground running.

LGTL Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Can't wait for this, proper london away day, wasn't the last Saturday 3pm in London West Ham?
fanimal Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Elia wasted today second half out on the wing, get him closer to Pelle, down the middle, same with Mane if and as when he gets on. Tadic is an enigma right now, poor today but always feels like Lallana used too, the one person who could do something different to conjure up a goal. Need Morgan back mostly, then Toby, then Big Vic, as Harrison Reed gets better every game, was my MOTM today before he got wrongly/surprisingly substituted
Dr Who? Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 I think we will bounce back in this one. They will be up and at us, but I think we have a team that can out pass them. Just need to stick the ball in the net.
Roger Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Forster Clyne fonte Toby targett Vic Morgan Davis Elia Mane pelle.
Jonnyboy Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 If we have that much possession and crosses then we will win comfortably How come we lost today then?
The Cat Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Can't wait for this, proper london away day, wasn't the last Saturday 3pm in London West Ham? Yep. And it will be our last one. Spurs was a Sunday, Palace Boxing Day, Arsenal mid week. Chelsea is now a Sunday.
Smirking_Saint Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 How come we lost today then? Because nobody got on the end of any of them
Turkish Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Because nobody got on the end of any of them And QPR don't have a centre half anywhere near as good as Ashley Williams.
Jonnyboy Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Let's hope Pelle can actually get a headed goal then.
SaintPete Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Now this really is a must win game, even a draw is no good. Their defence is awful, play like we did today and we will create enough opportunities to score a couple. If we lose, that really is it as far as the top 4 is concerned Yep, there'd be no chance of the top four if we find ourselves three points off fourth with 14 games to go
Saint_Tony Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Yep, there'd be no chance of the top four if we find ourselves three points off fourth with 14 games to go There wouldn't. We would have left ourselves too little margin for error. We need to win 2 out of every 3 to have any chance
Goatboy Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 There wouldn't. We would have left ourselves too little margin for error. We need to win 2 out of every 3 to have any chance I thought we'd blown our chances weeks ago?
Jack Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 ------------Forster Clyne - Fonte - Toby/Yoshi - Targett Morgan/Davis - Big Vic/Reed JWP----------------------------Elia -----------------Mane -----------Pelle
Saint_Tony Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 I thought we'd blown our chances weeks ago? We were close to it. Either way it's been a great season and we should easily beat last season's points total. I was expecting 10th-12th place so anything above that is a bonus. I think we've all got a bit over-excited and rightly so. But I feel too many people are taking it for granted that we will beat all the sides we did in the first half of the season. West Ham at home, Sunderland, Stoke, QPR and Leicester all away, are we realistically going to take maximum points again from those fixtures? Unlikely.
david in sweden Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 We need to control Charlie Austin, and without Wanyama on the pitch that's going to be difficult. We still have the " best "(?) defence in the Prem. but without actually scoring ourselves, we can't expect much more than a 0-0 draw. (with luck)
Saint Fan CaM Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 If we're to maintain any hope of CL then this is a must win game. Otherwise its like any other...anything could happen. Basically, we score first we will win and possibly by a large margin. Can see a midfield selection headache for Koeman...Davis has to start, Morgan in for Reed. I would then put Tadic behind Pelle and Mane and Elia out wide. 1-3 Saints if we find a way to score...1-0 QPR if not.
Saint Charlie Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Impossible to predict the team without knowing whether, or how many of, the injured players will return. Mane will start though surely.
Sour Mash Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 I thought Koeman had strongly hinted at all three injured players being back? That would leave a tough decision regarding JWP/S. Davis, as well as Tadic/Elia/Mane. I take it there is no chance Bertrand can contest his sending off, so Targett in at left back, a slight weakening in that position. If this Serbian lad signs he'll offer us something a bit different in terms of a final ball, something we've lacked quite a bit in my opinion. Goes without saying it would be an added bonus to heap more suffering onto Redknapp's poor shoulders.
Patrick Bateman Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 We need to control Charlie Austin, and without Wanyama on the pitch that's going to be difficult. We still have the " best "(?) defence in the Prem. but without actually scoring ourselves, we can't expect much more than a 0-0 draw. (with luck) Should just buy the ugly bugger. He'd be a good addition
Batman Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 well, as we know, teams down the bottom will go for it from the off. if we can keep them quiet in the first 15-20 mins. we should win but it does not always work out that way
Saint Garrett Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Would be tempted to switch to 3-5-2, however I'm not sure you can get Elia and Mane in the side if we play like that, I'd go with: Forster Clyne Fonte Alderweireld Bertrand (Targett if banned) Wanyama Morgan Davis Mane Pelle Elia Think he'll start JWP though, as he seems to like him. Also would be tempted to play Wanyama and Reed or Morgan and Reed - bit of a gamble sticking in two CM's who have just come back from injury.
Smirking_Saint Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Let's hope Pelle can actually get a headed goal then. Hopefully, worryingly he got nowhere near the low crosses either, what worried me most yesterday was that we put enough decent crosses into the box and nobody got anywhere near them
Wes Tender Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Utter nonsense - they're very competitive at home and already showed at SMS they can mix it up. They're very physical and direct and will try to follow Palace's recent gameplan which we struggled with. Much will depend on who returns for us and whether they hit the ground running. Decisions, decisions. Should they follow Crystal Palace's gameplan, which we struggled with, or should they follow Swansea's gameplan which we struggled with? And right there are two diametrically opposite strategies. But the argument assumes that we will be fielding the same team that we did against Palace and that QPR will be comparable man for man to Palace. It also assumes that Koeman will have learnt nothing from the Palace match. And as you say, it depends who returns for us, as had we had the likes of Toby, Wanyama and Schneiderlin available, I couldn't see us losing either the Palace or the Swansea games, and I would be confident of beating QPR no matter what Redcrapp's strategy was.

I mention Palace only because they too have plenty of pace and power - by the same token, QPR's defense isn't good enough to soak up pressure and play on the counter like Swansea did. Thought Zamora, of all players, gave us fits at SMS. Getting Toby back is a must because he's a mismatch Yoshida and Gardos is not mobile enough to deal with the likes of Vargas and Austin. We should win; but they've made life very difficult for teams on their patch -think the City game- where they've only lost three times all season.
Window Cleaner Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 What's with all the sticky tape on Victor's GPS bib then, did he burst it asunder in a sort of Hulk like way or is it an old brand that hasn't been replaced despite Garmin sponsorship.
Saint_Ash Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 I'd be happy with just one of Morgan or Vic in the midfield alongside young Reed against QPR, would've made the world of difference yesterday.
S-Clarke Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 What's with all the sticky tape on Victor's GPS bib then, did he burst it asunder in a sort of Hulk like way or is it an old brand that hasn't been replaced despite Garmin sponsorship. It's been like that for a couple of seasons, I think it's just a case of this equipment (heart monitors I think) was purchased with loads of branding slapped over it. They obviously don't want to replace the expensive kit, so just cover up the branding. Fair enough. And why is Morgan in those pictures? Doesn't he realise he should be at Arsenal? He's not got long, especially with rush hour coming up.
SuperSAINT Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 How good is it to see those 2 back training again? Will be brilliant to have them back this weekend.
Window Cleaner Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 How good is it to see those 2 back training again? Will be brilliant to have them back this weekend. In fact they figure at the end of the gallery for Sunday's game so they were evidently in some form of light training even then, pity neither of them was able to contribute 20 minutes or so at the end of yesterday"s game.
Leicestersaint Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 If we play like we did yesterday I can't see us scoring - have we forgotten how to shoot at the goal? When will our midfielders start scoring again?
Saint Garrett Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 If we play like we did yesterday I can't see us scoring - have we forgotten how to shoot at the goal? When will our midfielders start scoring again? TBF, the three that started in midfield yesterday have not scored this season I don't think...(Reed, Davis, JWP) Even Tadic hasn't scored many this year, 3 is it?
Batman Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 (edited) Morgan and vic back well, there we go two of the best CMs in the country Hopefully, TA will be back at the weekend, or by the west hame game.....oh yeah Forster Clyne Fonte TA/Yoshida Targett Vic Morgan Davis Elia Mane Pelle Davis, Gardos, Yoshida/McCarthy, Reed, JWP. Tadic, Seagar Edited 2 February, 2015 by Batman

Batman Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 If Alderweireld is still out and Yoshida plays then I can't see McCarthy being on the bench ahead of Gardos. Except, he isnt.
Matthew Le God Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Except, he isnt. Why did you put... "Yoshida/McCarthy"?
Batman Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 Why did you put... "Yoshida/McCarthy"? because if TA is unfit, yoshida plays and mccarthy take his place on the bench
S-Clarke Posted 2 February, 2015 Posted 2 February, 2015 MLG has been owned. Even I knew what that meant.
