Okay pelle wasn't fab today at all but he has to play every game and has done okay. Why haven't we signed another big striker? At start of the window koeman was adamant we needed one and then long got injured but now we aren't buying one. Lack of ambition from board maybe?

What big striker do you suggest?

Why hasn't Kate Upton slept with me yet?!! Probably my lack of ambition.

Yeah - that's clearly it. FFS.

Maybe we're trying to sign one. Maybe we're not. How many decent strikers are going to move/be allowed to move in January? Can you give us a list of potential targets? I'd be interested to know who you think is decent AND likely to move to us in January.

A lack of a striker was not the issue today... IMO Koeman should have started Mane to play close to Pelle. With Elia one side, Tadic another and no-one except JWP close, goals are going to be hard to come by... lets face it, JWP could have played all week and wouldn't score.

I've been saying this to my friends, Elia Pelle Mane combo upfront would be great, Tadic for me has been poor for a while and probably needs another rest. What we really need is a goal scoring attacking midfielder who plays behind the striker who gets into the box, so many crosses today and no one on the end of them.

It seems fairly obvious to me that there's not much money to spend. Already have Elia, Alderweireld and Bertrand on loan. And it seems now Djuricic will come on loan because Feyenoord won't let Vilhena go on the cheap, so I imagine Djuricic on loan untill the summer and then pick up Vilhena on the cheap as he'll only have a year left on his contract. Either way, none of this gives me the idea there's money to spend on a good striker right now, Koeman is making the best out of the situation.

Dzeko is available on loan if you believe the press...He probably wouldn't come but would have him in a heartbeat

Why? When we should have the 30 million that's we didn't spend in money received in summer?

If we were fully healthy Schneiderlin could play that role with Reed back with Wanyama. I suspect it will never happen though--possibly because we will never be fully healthy.

Setting aside cash flow issues, because none of us know when the money comes in and goes out, we have three players that we have the option to buy at the end of the season--that requires money. Also, it would probably be helpful for Financial Fair Play purposes to show a profit this year--although that won't matter so much if we don't qualify for Europe. Some of the 30 million is needed to give increases in pay to current players. Certainly, Clyne will need a chunk of that to agree to stay.

I'm new to this club, another Dutch guy who followed Koeman this season. I'm not as knowledgeable about the club's situation as I imagine many others on here are, so do correct me when I'm wrong. But when I just googled about the club's finances I found that Hans Hofstetter said back in March that the club owed £27 million in outstanding transfer fees, and would start the summer transfer window with a £27 million transfer debt. Did you take that into account?

But besides that, like Redslo also said, it's hard to know the ins and outs of the club's finances. Like incoming transfer fees, how are they structured, are they in installments. Or how much did the club have to pay in signing bonusses and agent fees with all these new signings. And indeed, also with the loans, is there any money allocated into signing some of them permanently at the end of this season.

I don't know, but what I do know is that the club seems to focus on loaning players to fix depth issues. This transfer window also with Elia and possibly Djuricic. Not something clubs with money to spend tend to do. Like I said earlier, I think Koeman and the club are making the best out of the situation. And I think they're doing a very good job this season.

I imagine its because there is nobody available for the money we are willing to spend considering we will need to find around that level for wages and transfer fees for Bertrand, Toby and Elia aswell as contractual terms for Clyne, Morgan, Jay potentially.

Possibility of a loan but there noone available with any pedigree

I think its as simple as them not being available on the terms we are prepared to work with.

I'm ok with our loans policy as long as we do everything to sign up the ones that have proved themselves. Bertrand the first one of those, you'd imagine elia and djuricic. Toby maybe more difficult.

Also our previous policy gave us expensive flops like Ramirez who we now can't shift, and osvaldo... Christ knows what you do with him. My guess is the club feel they've wasted (and are still wasting) lots of money on them and want to reduce the risk of it happening again

I think its because we can play Mane, Elia, or the new guy up the middle if we need to, which assumes Pelle is injured. We have Gallagher to come back (played last night); Ryan Seager has a bright future ahead of him (another great goal last night) and already has two minor bench appearances for the 1st team; J Rod will hopefully come back; and Long will be fit again in 6 weeks or so. Based on this and our policy of playing only one striker usually, we would struggle to fit in another established, £10m type player.

In the summer we can take a better view on our injured players, our loanees, and our young players coming though, allowing a more considered decision then.

I think it's because Koeman has lost interest in the job and wants to leave and Kat wants to sell up. Cork is the start of the asset stripping which will carry on during the summer and we are now on a downward curve. A mess in fact. I'll post more when I've got time.

On sky le tiss said that they are looking to being in another centre forward. Would think Matty is on know as he was at training ground with reed on fri. Let's hope so .

Positive, and hopefully it will happen as a loan.

Meanwhile we do have Mane to play behind Pele. That has worked well.

I do agree though that we need to be able to give Pele competition and the occasional rest. He is a powerhouse and workhorse. Without him our alternatives are physically lightweight, skilled as they are.

Allegedly this has all come about because the Council has knocked back the plans to expand the Stadium to 60,000 over the summer. That's my third post for this month

F*cksake I come on hear to share some information I've heard and all I get is the f*cking spanish inquisition. I won't bother next time.

You're known for passing off information you've read on twitter as your own. As someone that's been lambasted for calling people c*nts on here in the past I don't bother any more. However I make no apology for asking you if you've been told I'm a c*nt or read I am on twitter.

Article from the bbc on the transfer window

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31051012

this bit was interesting (I thought)

What happened to all the strikers?

Strikers - the players to save you from relegation or to kick-start a flagging bid for European qualification. Everyone wants to sign one, right?

On the evidence of this window, that is either not true or goalscorers are not readily available. Only eight of the 35 players signed by Premier League clubs in January were strikers and three of them were signed by Crystal Palace.

However, while more players from other positions were signed, clubs were less inclined to take a risk with their attacking recruits, opting for experience rather than youth, with the average age of strikers signed significantly higher than that of defenders or midfielders.

Sunderland and Crystal Palace brought in seasoned Premier League campaigners in 33-year-olds Jermain Defoe and Shola Ameobi respectively, while Manchester City made arguably the biggest move of the window by signing Wilfried Bony, 26, from Swansea.
