Saint-Armstrong Posted 28 January, 2015 Posted 28 January, 2015 Selection of videos here, after Les visited the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's annual convention in Philadelphia. He had a range of questions put to him about what we do at Saints, coaching, and youth football philosophy more widely. You can select a question and see his answer, here: https://www.youtube.com/user/CoachingManualUK/videos
positivepete Posted 28 January, 2015 Posted 28 January, 2015 Attention all Mini Soccer and Tyro rep managers. Please look at and listen to the video under the question "the most important behaviour for a youth soccer coach".
braveheart1983 Posted 28 January, 2015 Posted 28 January, 2015 I really don't like the fact we're now so open about what we do. NEVER show your jewels and crowns of the court to your competitors or enemies. We seem to be doing this too much at the moment and I'm concerned we'll lose our edge on other teams as others copy our model.
Hopkins Posted 28 January, 2015 Posted 28 January, 2015 Some other good coaching videos from a year or later ago. Anthony Limbrick taking some drills with the u14's regarding pressing in the final third. Talks about pressing at the right times etc. Josh Sims is one of the 14's being coached.
Give it to Ron Posted 28 January, 2015 Posted 28 January, 2015 The u16s are getting better and gave Arsenal a good game including Beckham's son a decent draw.

Just a good strategy, very well executed. Don't think for a minute everything we do we've invented out of nowhere, we have accumulated ideas over time from other sources. Les is just sharing a bit of our vision, that's all. He's not going to tell people about the Staplewood blood doping room any time soon.

Give it to Ron Posted 28 January, 2015 Posted 28 January, 2015 I was a bit worried when Dodd, Williams and Murty went as were some friends who have kids there but the new coaches are getting results. Hunter is the man.

My nephew was meant to be playing in that game but got his first call up to the 18s instead. Apparently Beckham jr put a couple of decent crosses in, other than that he wasn't great. Played right back didn't he?

Give it to Ron Posted 29 January, 2015 Posted 29 January, 2015 Yes Brooklyn was right back even runs like his old man . Steady player reads it well.
