Saint_Ash Posted 31 January, 2015 Posted 31 January, 2015 God knows how we'll cope after selling ronaldo to Swansea. He was our best player apparently so we're bound to lose.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 31 January, 2015 Posted 31 January, 2015 4-0 tomorrow - we march on! Indeed. I'm counting on/hoping for a surprisingly good game. Pelle scoring twice.
John Cool Posted 31 January, 2015 Posted 31 January, 2015 A win should eradicate our 0.7% chance of relegation and boost our 4.5% chance of winning the title (according to http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/Southampton.html )
Dark Munster Posted 31 January, 2015 Posted 31 January, 2015 1-2 followed by a defeat at QPR and that'll be that for a Euro place. I can feel it in my water.
Rasiak-9- Posted 31 January, 2015 Posted 31 January, 2015 If there was ever a game where the first goal could make all the difference, this is it. Swansea score and all of a sudden we're panicking and their tails are up. We score first and everything calms down + (touch wood), they roll over and fall into the temptation of dossing around (now that they've got nothing to play for this season). I'll say this much, I don't see a team coming from behind to win this game.

We score first and everything calms down + (touch wood), they roll over and fall into the temptation of dossing around (now that they've got nothing to play for this season). I say this in every game we play. We are very much a team that can play when were leading. We just tighten up on defence. But a goal behind feels like a huge upphill task ahead of us. Lets hope Elia gets an eary one then.
St Chalet Posted 31 January, 2015 Posted 31 January, 2015 I think it will show Koeman's real genius by getting Davis to be in two places at once. I'll accept Koeman is a tactical genius if he puts Steve Davis as an advanced midfielder and Kelvin Davis as the reserve keeper.
Jack Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Hopefully the Palace game was a reminder of how easily you can lose a game if you're not on it. With any luck they've had a good week in training and refocused. Really good time to play Swansea based on their form, injuries and suspensions, but I'm never that confident when that happens. Could be a cagey one. 2-1 Saints.

JoeShmoe Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Tadic has been woeful lately, I hope we start Elia and Mane and just go at them with pace, but can see a 3-5-2 type formation with Maya back. Swansea were gash against Blackburn and look like a team that have jacked it in for the season
musesaint Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 A must win game .....again..! Haha Actually very pleased, in a weird way, that we lost to Palarse. Now we have no excuses if we don't make champions league!
Saint_Tony Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 In a way maybe the Palace defeat was a bit of a wake up call. RoKo says the team have had a good week of training. As mentioned, if we get the first goal I think we'll see them off comfortably. 2-0 Saints, Pelle x 2
I remember Paul Rideout! Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Not in UK at the mo so can't get to the game. Does anyone know if there's a stream for it?
Matthew Le God Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Not in UK at the mo so can't get to the game. Does anyone know if there's a stream for it? There is a stream for every single Premier League game.
I remember Paul Rideout! Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Cool thank you, what's the link pls? ta

Matthew Le God Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 I don't remember Paul Rideout Paul Rideout remembers you and is sad you've forgotten him.
I remember Paul Rideout! Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Awesome thank MLG! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint-Armstrong Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Nervous about this one... not quite sure why.
Convict Colony Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 JWP is going to score his first prem goal today - I can feel it! You sir will get the credit if he does and I will do this.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Jamie Carragher: "They're a very good team in the league, not just little old Southampton anymore."
Goatboy Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 I don't remember Paul Rideout Rohypnol Rideout Ruins Bear.
Lighthouse Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 I wouldn't start with Mane and EE personally. I know it's a bit of a football cliché but having pace on the bench to come on against tired legs can be pretty useful. Just look at Long when we played Leicester. I'd start with Tadic and Elia. JWP, Reed and Davis making up the rest of the midfield assuming the other candidates aren't fit yet. I'd perceiver with Gardos who has been excellent up until last week. I don't even think he was that bad against Palace.
Bearsy Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 I bet Sky regret putting this on TV now that both sides have sold their greatest player Hard to see where the goal will come from without Bony or Cork Saints 0-0 Swansea
simo Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 I'd like to note Rons comment that we haven't really trained properly for nearly 2 month , I'm hoping a week back on the training ground will eradicate last week's sloppy defending! 2-1 saints
Cricketphilly Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Cool thank you, what's the link pls? ta Rideout and Sam Vokes both went to Lymington's finest, Priestlands...strange but true.
Bearsy Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Been reading up on history and found that the Welsh haven't won a battle on English soil since 1149 Saints 4-0 Swansea
Goatboy Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Been reading up on history and found that the Welsh haven't won a battle on English soil since 1149 Saints 4-0 Swansea Lies!!!
Bearsy Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 If that's what you call Winning, goatboy, I am happy to take the defeat Saints 0-1 Swansea
SNSUN Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 I've got a bad feeling about this game, but maybe that's the pessimistic Saints fan of old talking. If we want to finish top 4, this is really one of those games we have to be winning. There in lies the pressure. That said I'm sure the lads are taking this one game at a time, and whatever the performance today we simply need the 3 points. I bet Cork makes an appearance at some point, to say hello to the Swansea fans and goodbye to the Saints, I bet Forster had one of those games he looks like the best keeper in the world, and I bet Koeman says "thatsh football" in the post match interview. I lay no money on these.
Yuki Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Who is likely to be the conduit to Pelle today? Tadic and Elia with Mane on the replacements bench?
Saint-Armstrong Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 SAINTS: Forster; Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Bertrand; Ward-Prowse, Reed, S. Davis; Tadić, Pellè, Elia. BENCH: K. Davis, Gardos, Targett, Gape, Mané, Seager.
Tom28 Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Surely it would be worth putting McCarthy or McQueen on the bench?
simo Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Only 6 subs? Maybe a little message to the board
Batman Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 probably ronald making a point that we are thin on the ground
shurlock Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Not the first time he's named only six subs. Did the same against sheff u.
stpedro Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 no Isgrove either, not just the likes of McCarthy and Hesketh missing on the bench who have been before
Saint-Armstrong Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 If anyone was wondering, Cork is at SMS today.
Bad Wolf Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 If anyone was wondering, Cork is at SMS today. Why wouldn't he be? He's a Swansea player and we're playing Swansea. Players often go to games where they're injured or suspended. Must be one of the quickest returns to a former club in history though. I don't get why we've only named 6 subs. It's not the first time this season either.
captainchris Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 Well Tadic better justify his place in the team because his all round game lately has been woeful...
krissyboy31 Posted 1 February, 2015 Posted 1 February, 2015 6 subs is odd... Late injury maybe? Hesketh and Isgrove missing not sure if their injured though.
